It's been many years since seeing Ned. Memories of a time ago always placed Ned as a fun spirited, positive, engaging man, super athlete. My thoughts go out to Erin and the family, and his broad circle of friends.

I love you. Thank you for showing me how good a human can be. I don´t think I´ll ever be able to fathom how lucky I am to call you my best friend. You´ll always be a part of me. Acceptance, and fun. Unwavering loyalty, infinite stability. Joy, pure trust. Upmost respect.

What a truly fine man and a gifted instructor. He could take complex concepts and make them easy to digest. I am sad to lose his presence in the world, as he clearly made it better for all who had the privilege to know him. Deepest condolences to his family and colleagues.

I am all the way in Cape Town, South Africa and with a heavy heart I write this message. Thank you for sharing your story with us. Thank you for loving what you do and sharing that with the world. Thank you for having a positive out look on life no matter what you were going through.

To Prof Ned's wife and kids, I hope you know that he shared stories about all the fun times you had in his Live Sessions. He was grateful for the love and support that he had at home.

While this may not bring comfort now, I can promise you that he knew that he was loved by you all.

I did mot know this man personally but from reading his obituary, not knowing him personally was my loss. My heart goes out to his family.

May his soul rest in peace. As our faculty, he was very impressive not just with his subject knowledge but also his sheer spirit. He remains a key motivator in my life and has left an everlasting impact on my life (in spite of our meeting being so brief). My condolences to the family.

My daily interactions with Tessa and her favorite walking buddy, Ned brightened every day. Our neighborhood and community cherishes your family and we promise to do everything we can to comfort, care for and lift you. Much love to the forever in our hearts "Smith6."

Ned and I were good friends growing up, he was always such a great and impressive person. Remembering lots of great times rollerblading off the ramp in his driveway, sleepovers, and playing in a band together as teenagers. Sending all of my love to Erin, your children, your family, and everyone who loved Ned.

So sad to loose this kind, brilliant, interesting, loving, husband, father, friend, son and brother.

Heartbreaking to find out... Ned was one of my first and best professors at the University of Michigan undergrad business school. Not only was he an excellent teacher, but he also possessed extraordinary wit and was so fun to be around. You will be sincerely missed. Rest in peace.

We lost such an intellectual, smart and wonderful professor, still hard to believe. He was my first professor from Kellogg (before enrolling in the program) whose lecture I attended as visitor. It was such an amazing class that I still remember it.

We got to know Ned when he became our daughter's brother-in-law and we loved him right away. Kind, smart, fun and adventurous, we are better for knowing him and send our deepest condolences to Erin and the kids.
