David Nussbaum

Ellen, it's David Nussbaum from Jacksonville. I am so sorry to hear about Neil. I only saw the announcement of his passing on the internet after I was watching Sunday Morning on television this Labor Day, and they showed a bit about the Great Smokey Mountians Natl Park, and many of the places I was lucky enough to be included to hike into on several trips with Neil and other guy's like George Trotter, David Moomaw, my cousin Billy, Tommy Andrews and so many others I cant remember them all. That was sometime in the mid 80's. There was also that long painful butt bicycle ride from Jacksonville to St Augustine where the wives met us and we had dinner at some Italian restaurant down there so many years ago. Any I tried to find an email address for Neil so I could reconnect and say hi. I missed my chance when I he had just died. Neil was the greatest gentleman in every way that I had the pleasure of getting to know I'm so sorry for your loss and pray God gives you comfort thru this difficult time. Sincerely, David

Dear Ellen, and family,

I was sorry to learn of Neil's death. Neil, Herb Niles, Bruce Bell and I studied together at Allegheny, and formed a life long friendship. My mother always said, if you end up with 2 or 3 close friends in your life, you will have been very lucky. I was lucky. I'm so grateful to have had Neil as one one of those life long friends.

Dear Ellen and family: I was saddened to hear of Neil's passing. He was a wonderful clinician, valued colleague, and true friend. I will remember him always both in his lab coat and on his bike seat on one of our numerous "butt-buster" journeys.

Dear Ellen and family, I was so saddened to hear about Neil's passing away. I know how close he was to Stuart and Marshall. Stuart and Neil grew especially close as they grew older and were able to go on those long distance cycling trips. Neil was inspirational to Stuart as he became more involved in his religious studies. Marshall was also so fond of Neil. He was so thankful that Neil was a telephone call away when he had his heart attack when he was on a golf outing in Jacksonville. I will always have good memories of Neil in Monticello. He was always so kind to me. I guess I just want to offer my condolences and tell you that I celebrate the life he had.

I was saddened to hear that Dr. Abramson has passed away; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was always rightfully proud of his family and his legacy will live on with his family members. During the course of his lifetime he helped train many members of the medical profession and the good that they continue to do through the knowledge that he gave them will continue to help others. Neil also helped many gain a deeper understanding of Judaism and ethics. Condolences from me and my family to all of the Abramson family.

Dear Ellen and Family:
We are so sorry for your profound loss. Those who were privileged to know Neil were blessed to have a wonderful friend who was, simply put, a super human being. To be in his presence was an enjoyable experience and an inspiration to all. His love and warmth echoed throughout all he did in his medical practice, his synagogue, or his home. We all have wonderful memories of a marvelous friend who made us all feel special. We share in your loss and his memory shall always be a part of our lives.
Sincere love to this wonderful family.

Neil was cherished friend for 62, and, of course, fraternity brother and fellow Alleghenian. He was a man of uncommon intellect and accomplishment, and a physician who helped countless patients and eased their suffering. With it all, he had a great sense of humor--and though we saw each other infrequently after college, the bond between us was unshakable. He was truly one of the righteous . We will never forget him and always miss him.
