LILLY, Neil Robert
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 24, 2013 at the age of 85. Loving husband of Kate for 59 years. Proud father of Carolyn Greenfield (Glenn), Larry Lilly (Julie), Alan Lilly (Patti), and Betty Tilson (Tim). Proud grandpa of Danielle & Jacob Lilly, Jennifer & Robin Lilly, and Sarah & Tim Tilson. Predeceased by 1 brother and 1 sister. Survived by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Neil retired from General Motors in 1985 after 35 years of service. He was an active retiree with the CAW local 1973 and was awarded Retiree of the Year in 2012. He was also an avid member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church (formerly St. Aidan's). Visiting will be held at Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (1969 Wyandotte St. E.) on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Neil may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

To his wife Kate and his family , please accept our sincere condolences on Neil's passing. He will be fondly remembered for his gentle, cheerful and humorous nature and the stories of his fishing trips to the East Coast.

Aunt Kay, Carolyn, Larry, Alan, Betty and families, Thinking of you all during this difficult time. We always enjoyed Uncle Neil when he would come home to NL in the summer time. We have wonderful memories of him in Exploits and he always loved a "feed of mussels" from the waters of Notre Dame Bay.
