I read with great appreciation all his posts on Orchid. A great loss to us all.

I looked forward to reading Niel's posts on the Orchid forum. He was so kind and generous with his expertise. I will miss his sly humor.

I read every post that Neil put on the forum. I learned from the information that he shared and from thinking about his opinions, which he definitely had. I will miss him.

As a newbie I looked forward to Neil's postings, he always had the answers I was looking for. His sharing of his knowledge is going to be sorely missed.

Very unexpected and extremely saddening news; Neil's comments were instructive and always welcome. Condolences to his family and friends.

Neil the Jeweler was a sharing kinda' guy. I always read his postings on Orchid and respected what he had to say. My gratitude for his generosity and kindness in his postings. My sympathy to his family in his passing.

Neil was a good friend that I never had the pleasure of meeting face to face. We talked often of his love for fast cars and fishing, as well as jewelry, tools, customers and Ralph.

I will miss him like a brother (from a different Mother as he used to say). My deepest sympathy to his family.

I was so sorry to hear about Neil. His information shared with fellow jewelers on Orchid was always interesting to read. My condolences to his family.

I met Neil, like many of the posters, on Orchid but I ended my association with Orchid a number of years ago due to time constraints. Neil, however, was the only person I kept up a constant, ongoing email friendship with. As it turned out we felt as if we were long lost twins......coming from the same area and following many of the same paths throughout life and sharing many of the same thoughts and ideas. I am devastated by his passing and I am sure his family is only more so. My deepest sympathies to everyone.

When ever I went to Orchid and saw your name I quickly opened it up to read your letters. You will be sadly missed by all..may your kind spirit be remembered by all!

I will sincerely miss Neil. Met him online but wrote occasionally as one gear head to another. I still think my big-block Chevelle might have given him a good run! Now we will never know.

My condolences to Neil's family and friend's. I will miss his witty, intelligent comments on Orchid. He left this earth too early and will be missed.

Please accept my sincere condolences. Like so many others, I came to feel as though I knew Neil through his posts on Orchid. I appreciated his frequent sharing of his experience and his sense of humor.

Neil was a wonderful online mentor to me. Always the voice of reason. He has been, and will be in the future, an inspiration to me.

As others have said, I never met Neil in the real world, I knew him through his thoughtful and informative posts on Orchid, the online jeweler's list. Know that he added to lives the world over, and will be missed.

A long time correspondent with Neil, he is too soon gone, and oh so missed.
When I was addressing a message to a relative neil, first email link was to "Neil the Jeweler."
To his family, know that Neil was known by his words and humor to many around the world.

Sincere condolences to the family.
I never met Neil. He was known to me only as "Neil-the-jeweler" from the Orchid online jewelers forum.
In the years Neil has been part of our Orchid "family" he has regularly shared his valuable knowledge and his special good humor. He was well-respected in our community and his respect for others, regardless of their experience was obvious, even when the situation might require a suggesting a healthy dose of reality.
I never failed to open his posts as I knew I'd learn something, find food for thought and, often as not, have a good smile or laugh.
We will surely miss him here.

I was so sorry to hear of Neil's passing - I "knew" him through the Orchid online jewelry list, and always enjoyed his postings, which were invariably both informative and enjoyable to read. If he was as wonderful in person as he was on the internet, then he was a real treasure. He will be missed around the world. My sincere condolences.

I would like to express my sincere condolences on the passing of Neil. Although I did not know him personally, I know that he was a respected member in online community and will be sorely missed.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. Although I never met Neil, he was a frequent poster to the online jewelry forum Ganoksin. His sense of humor and dear personality always shone through his frequent posts to that site. He seemed such a wry, generous soul. Because of that, many of us felt as though we had met him in person. Neil will be very much missed.

I never met Neil - we have had an online friendship relating to jewelry for some years. I would say we were friends, in the ways people who never meet can be, these days. Lately I've noticed his absence, and a search for him brought me here, sad to say. He was a fine man, and his love of life came through in everything he said. Not to mention his sense of humor! I'm very saddened to hear this.........

To Neil's Family: I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Neil was a kind person and excellent at his craft. I will miss stopping in to see him when I'm in Darien.
