Our beloved Neil N. Snyder went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 3, 2017 in Saratoga, CA. Neil was born in Park Rapids, Minnesota on March 30, 1923. His love for life, family, friends, dancing, singing, playing the bones/spoons, harmonica, ukulele and his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, kept him young.
Neil moved to Everett, WA when he was 2 years old. Neil served for 4 years in the Army in WWII. After the war he married the love of his life, Dadie, in 1946 and they lived in Seattle, WA and had 3 children, Marceena, Gregory and Larry. Neil worked at Boeing in Renton, WA for almost 10 years. He relocated his family to San Jose, CA in 1959 and went to work at Lockheed in Sunnyvale, CA. After 29 years with Lockheed he retired and then went to work at Orchard Supply for 10 more years.
Through his lifetime, Neil loved education and attended San Jose City, DeAnza, and West Valley Colleges. He even took tap dancing and at the age of 90 performed on stage at West Valley College.
He and his wife Dadie also belonged to the Santa Clara Senior Community Center's "The Dancing Grandmothers and Neil" performing throughout the Silicon Valley for many years.
Neil leaves behind his daughter Marceena and husband Pastor Dewey Short; son Gregory and wife Cheryl Snyder; son Larry and wife Rhonda Snyder; 6 grandchildren: Dena Opray-Corriea, Dana Opray-Koontz and Danae' Opray-Roberts; Michael Snyder and Cherie Snyder-Heath; and Amie Snyder-Faria; 15 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Cathedral of Faith on Canoas Garden Ave., San Jose, CA.
