- Always an invitation to home-cooked seafood dinners and buko pandan for dessert whenever we visited Manila when they were still living there.
- A family trip to Baguio
- Rosaries that have been blessed
- Nice dresses that she gave us in the '90's that we still wear every summer
- Really tight hugs when we needed them the most
These, among others, are the memories we will always cherish.
Via, so very sorry. Please know you're in our thoughts and prayers.

Ate Nelia, as I fondly call her, is a dear friend. She's like a second mom to me. I used to pick her up at her house to bring her to our household prayer meeting every week for almost 2 years. The trip was never boring, she always has stories to share and we will talk about life in general. When it's my turn to host our meetings, she will go with me to the store and she will teach me how to prepare the food, just like a mom. I thought I was doing her a favor by giving her a ride, but it was the other way around. She enriched my life. She taught me how to cook good dishes, and gave me advice in raising my child. She also taught me to trust in the Lord, especially as I witnessed how she kept her faith strong as she experienced the death of her husband and her dear son Oyan. Ate Nelia, we love you and we will miss you very much!
