Growing up, I always looked forward to going to Aunt Nell's house. She made me feel so welcome. I remember many fond holidays, there. It saddens me that she has passed. She will be missed.

I will miss my sweet Ms. Nell. I called her "my heart" because she stole my heart the first time I met her at Courtland Terrace on my weekly visits with my grandma. Her smile was beautiful and my only regret is that I did not get to know her longer. I love you Ms. Nell.....rest in peace.... And know that you touched my heart!

Nell was a dear friend of my late mother, Edna Lewis. As a teenager I looked up to Nell. She was always sophisticated and well-dressed. In her later years I would visit she and Nell Stegall. Nell was so kind and always fun to be around. I will miss her.

She will always be in my heart, she was such a delight to be around. She and Betty made me learn canasta and bridge because of a void. Always in my heart!

Beautiful Aunt Nell was always very kind to me. I used to see her every Christmas before Granddaddy Cecil passed away. I miss those times very much. She also made me hate poodles (laughs) because they would never let me get close to her... even for a quick hug. They loved her too!

On behalf of Nell Stegall - RIP my dear sweet friend. What times we shared and what memories we made. (Note - This is Nell's niece, Wanda Carraway. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. We all loved Nell Franklin. I have chosen not to tell Nell Stegall about Nell's passing. With her dementia I don't know if she will understand but I feel in my heart that she knows.)

On behalf of Nell Stegall... RIP my dear friend. Oh, what great times we had and the many memories we made. Please know that if I could I would be there and please know that if I could tell you I would say "I Love You my friend" and someday we will be together again and we will remember all the good times we had. (Note: I am Nell Stegall's niece, Wanda Carraway, and I send you my thoughts and prayers. We all loved Nell very much. I have chosen not to tell my Nell due to her dementia I am afraid she will not understand but I know in my heart that she would send her love to you all.

Rest in peace, my dear Nell. You, Nell Stegall and I have had some great times over a game of scrabble, a home cooked meal and a shot of scotch. These are times I will never forget. Love to the family, Nancy Burgin, Lake Wylie, SC
