Barb,
Thank you for posting the notice in the Star, we and other neighbours from the 60's would not have known of your mom's passing otherwise. Everytime I return to Odessa Ave., I look at the house or visit it and always see your Nell and Jack. I remember your mom best from the great sewing she did. One year my mom bought me the most overly sized leather coat at Simpsons warehouse. She ran that thing back and forth to Nell, who tried to 'take it in' with her masterful skills, but in the end said- to work a miracle on that, she'd need a commercial leather stitcher machine. Of course it was never worn. She is also in many of the Etobicoke party photos I have. Bea last saw her near her condo before moving out west, and after that, did not know where she went... it is great to read that she was near you the last years.Thinking of you, and remembering Nell in my prayers at Mass.

Auntie Nell was such a wonderful lady. She brightened up every room she entered. It was so wonderful for my family to get to see her again last summer. She was truly an amazing person. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Barb...your Mom will be sorely missed but lovingly remembered. She was such a breath of fresh air. The kids and I will miss her fabulous stories and her arts & crafts sales at her apartment complex. I wish we could be there on Friday.

Auntie Nell was a very special person. I remember when I was little and she made me a shirt with WOW on the front because I liked the letter W. She is a great lady who will truly be missed. I wish I could be there on Friday. My mom will be there for all of us.
