I met Mr. DeMille in South Carolina at a book signing for The General's Daughter. I had a few minutes to talk with him and he seemed genuine and friendly. He signed my book, "From one DeMille to another" which was very touching. I've read most of his books starting with The Charm School which I recommend to any Cold War novel fans out there. To quote: "Who controls the past, controls the future: who controls the present controls the past."
- Nelson DeMille, The Charm School. Rest in peace, sir.

What a truly AMAZING author Nelson DeMille was. He was my favourite author of all time. Many of his books I have read half a dozen times, or more. For instance, Plum Island, which got me hooked on the character of John Corey.
Rest in Peace, Mr DeMille, knowing that you brought so much joy and humour to people all over the world.

My husband and I were discussing Mr DeMill today, when he informed me he had passed. I just have to say how truly sorry I was to hear this. He was an iconic writer. I truly loved his stories. Gold Coast was my favorite. I have a signed book by him. Rest in peace sir. You were a treasure.

Since The Rivers of Babylon I´ve enjoyed Mr. DeMille´s novels and characters. So long to John Corey, the NYPD cop we´d all like to be and won´t forget. A Vietnamese vet, Mr. Corey was the real deal from an era we won´t see again.

Myself active on Long Island, I would meet Nelson at many events.
He was always the kindest and engaging person and I thoroughly valued every conversation we had. I attended one of his master classes on writing.- He loved his family very much. Victoria (Vicki) Murphy
