We are so sad to hear of his passing. As a first time mom of a premie he guided us through everything and was always a phone call away. We will never forget his kindness and support over the years. May he rest in peace.

Dear Niami family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. Dr. Nersi Niami and I met more than three decades ago at Hahnemann University Hospital when he was a resident in pediatrics department. Later on, we had the honor and pleasure of having him in Shabahang's board. He was an honorable man, kind, hard working and always ready to help. I am very sorry he left us too soon. Hope his kind face, great memories and sense of humor and expertise as a physician will always be remembered by all of us. May he rest in eternal peace.
Kindest regards,
Simin Dadparvar, MD

This picture of Nersi captured his happy, kind, and gentle soul! I look at it and remember his acts of kindness and generosity of heart.
I remember how he always celebrated Nader´s accomplishments with such genuine joy! The photo below was taken years ago, when Nader was being celebrated for becoming a chair professor at Penn. Nersi, a busy doctor, had taken the morning off to come to celebrate with us. His support meant so much to us who didn´t have family in the area.

My dear friends Nersi & Rita- The thought of not seeing Nersi when we come back to the US this summer is very difficult to comprehend and bear for me and Mitra. Nersi and Rita have been such a steady part of my life for the past 37 years (since 1988 when Nersi moved to Philadelphia) that the thought of life in Philly without my dear friend Nersi does not fit in my brain and does not seem real. Nersi was like an older brother to me, only 3 days older than my own older brother Ali (and born in the same hospital in Tehran, according to our Moms, who were 2nd or 3rd cousins) and perhaps for that reason and maybe many other ones I felt very close to him and he always treated me the same way as well. And for the past seven or eight years since Mitra came into my life in the US, Rita and Nersi have been a great pillar of support and an ever giving fountain of love and kindness towards us, such that Mitra has acknowledged them to everyone endlessly here and in Iran.
Nersi and I along with my brother Ali and a few other friends started our weekly tennis routine in Winter of 1992 and our group of friends and partners grew steadily until 2008 when I moved back to Iran, but Nersi and our other friends kept the group organized and running smoothly until today. He truly was one of the steadiest pillars of our Persian community here in the greater Philadelphia area. I can´t say enough about him and how I miss him and how sorry I am that I am not able to be there with the rest of our friends and community to celebrate Nersi´s life and share the sorrow of losing him so early in his life.
Mitra´s and my heart ache for his loss and we send all of our love to Nersi, Rita joon and our dear Sanaz and Sogol, and of course dear Pardis and Ramin. All of whom we hope to see soon and share our grief with.. With our best regards and all of our love Mohsen & Mitra

We are deeply saddened by the devastating news of Nersi´s passing. We cannot think of anyone kinder or more genuine than him-a loving father, a devoted husband, and a dependable friend. His loss leaves a profound void in our small Iranian-American community.
May his soul rest in eternal peace and be reunited with his beloved mother.
With heartfelt condolences, Ramineh and Keyanoush, Hanna and Nicki

My deepest sympathies sent to Dr. Niami's family and friends. Dr. Niami was not only a wonderful pediatrician to my daughter for many years, but a sense of comfort to a first time Mom. I knew my daughter was in good hands when she was seen by Dr. Niami.
Rest in Peace Dr. Niami.

We studied medicine in the same medical school but I was not his classmate. I was a bit younger. However I used to see him every now and then from a distance and what I remembered from him was a nice, genuine, and kind smile.
