Dr Scherl was a kind , caring and witty soul. I was fortunate to make his acquaintance not as a patient but as a fellow racquetball player. The time we spent together on and off the court was always pleasant. At my 40th birthday party in 2001 he honored me with a poem. It was entitled "Big Mike" and I am happy to say that I still have it to this very day. To to all who knew him I hope you too have a poem, story or memory of him that brings a smile to your face. Dr. Newton Scherl was a wonderful physician who will be fondly remembered by his many patients. We send our sincerest sympathies to his extended family especially to his daughter Dr. Sharon Scherl. From Ruth & Peter Adler.
Newton and his loving sons at my son's Bar Mitzvah 15 years ago. It was a blessing to know him for over 30 years.

Came from a wonderful and dedicated medically knowledgeable and giving family. He won many awards and gave of himself to others...His dad Dr. Sam Scherl led the way as our family doctor and friend...a family name to be proud of. Thankful to have been on the family tree.
