Nicholas John Fallier

Nick was my Boy Scout Leader during the 1950's. I have 3 large pictures of Nick, Larry Brock and me on my office wall. Nick was a big brother to our little explorer scout troup - Willard Gatlin, Larry, Earl Strickland, Leo Young and me. Maybe I'll see you again someday Nick.

My sincere condolences to the sister and niece of Nick Fallier. I first meet Nick in the late 1980s as we recovered the crashed remains of a WW II aircraft together. We had alot in common and became instant friends. When traveling thru Tallahassee, Nick was always ready for lunch or a BS session in his basement. Truely, one of the most un-forgetable characters that I ever meet! CAVU @ God Speed Nick

Patty Sue, I remember playing on the porch of your grandparents' house with you. My sincere condolences to you on the loss of your Uncle Nick. He was a dear friend of my dad, Aubrey Barrow, and I have many warm memories of him.

I met Nick in the 90s when I was researching Mabry Field. He was a great guy and full of spirit. Not a small man by then, but it was easy to think this man had been a fighter pilot. I treasure the time I got to spend with him and the nation is lessened by his passing as we'll never know his type again. God Speed Nick, another pilot has "Gone West"...

On behalf of the remaining 308 members of the Colonel H. M. "Bud" West Chapter of the Air Force Association, we sadly note the passing and extend our sincere and deep sympathy to the family of our loyal member, Nicholas J. Fallier. As a young man during the early and dark days of World War II, he answered the nation’s call and served gallantly while flying in the Pacific Theater with the US Army Air Forces. Throughout his exemplary life, he was a credit to Tallahassee, the State of Florida and to our country! A life well lived Nick, may you rest in peace.

We lost a great American and a good friend in Col. Nic. The first time I met him was about 12 years ago when he was basking in the sun on the front porch of the cook shack waiting on a repairman to fix the tractor at Jubilee. He became a dear friend and I loved to spend time in his house looking at all of his momentos, elk hides, the basement museum - what a treat! We had some great times out at Jubilee and I'll never forget driving through the gate only to have a shotgun blast go off, a flock of gobblers fly across in front of me, and Col. Nic in his golf cart in hot pursuit waving a shotgun. We had him get up to speak at a kid's day we had at Jubilee and the kids learned a few four letter words before I could get him off the porch!

He told great stories of jumping off of boats in Lake Apopka to wrestle a huge gator, of throwing turkeys out of airplanes (only to have them jump back in with him),of training Gentle Ben from the TV show and having him ride around in the front seat of his Jeep.

They truly broke the mold after they made Col. Nic and I'd like to think that he's somewhere chasing a turkey or wetting a line with Gov. Chiles and Mallory Horne. I'm sure going to miss him!

I am very sorry to read of Nicks passing. I only knew him for the last 7-8 years but he was a very interesting gentleman. He contacted me about doing a military decoration display for him, which he hung in his living room and I'm sure was justifiably proud of. We shared a commom interest in WWII military history and we spent many hours viewing and talking about his collection. My condolences to his family. He was one of the "Greatest Generation".
