Mr. Nicholas Eugene "Lil Nick" Gillis Jr.

Celebration of Life Nicholas Eugene Gillis Jr. “Lil Nick� July 2, 1986 –August 8, 2011 Nicholas was born July 2, 1986, in Jacksonville, NC (USMC) to Nicholas and Taurie Gillis, affectionately known to his family and friends as “Lil Nick�. Lil Nick was a loving, caring and respectful young man who left us to soon. Lil Nick confessed in Christ at a young age under the Pastorage of Rev. Roosevelt Bradley. Nicholas attended John Vohr Elementary School and Horace Mann High School. Nicholas traded life for Eternity on August 8, 2011 at 2:05 p.m., while God, Grandma Helen, Grandpa Peter and great–grandmother Jerry welcomed him home with open arms. Nick leaves to cherish his memories, daughter, Kaneka Arion Franklin-Gillis, mother , Taurie N. Gillis, father, Nicholas Eugene Gillis Sr., sister, Tiara Nicole King, precious Angel coming in February (Shay), grandparents, Charles and Jean Anderson, aunts, Terry and Elvira Dunlap of Merriville, IN, Marie Felton, Margaret (Joe) Chapman of Virginia Beach, VA, Deborah (Cornelius) Williams of Gary, IN, Wanda Parnell of Griffith, Jeanette (Cornell) Luellen of Acworth, GA and Kim (Greg) Teamer of Griffith, IN, great-aunts, Kim (Aaron) Sullivan of Gary, IN, Jackie Patricia, Joe Leslie Gillis of East Chicago, IN, and Deborah Anderson of Hammond, uncles, Alfonso Turner of Gary, IN, Donald and Sara Harvey, Minneapolis, MS, great –uncles, Johnny Gillis, Joe (Joyce) Anderson, William Mackie and Clarence Anderson, a ton of cousins.
