Nicholas "Nick" Horstmann, 46, passed away on July 1, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Born on April 5, 1979, in Denver, Colorado, Nick carried with him a quiet strength and a unique spirit that left a lasting impression on those who truly knew him. Though he often wore the guise of a grump, his smile could light up a room and his gentle nature revealed the depth of his heart.

Nick was a homebody at heart, finding joy in the quiet comfort of shared solitude. His favorite pastime was exploring thrift stores in search of rare retro technology-a shared adventure that led to an impressive collection of vintage treasures. He had a passion for building computers, whether restoring old machines from salvaged parts or assembling new ones tailored for gaming. These projects were more than hobbies; they were expressions of his creativity and curiosity.

On December 1, 2024, Nick became a member of Village Lutheran Church and returned to regular communion. After many years away from any church community, he experienced a spiritual renewal that brought peace and purpose to his life. The Holy Spirit worked within him to restore his faith-a transformation that marked one of the most meaningful chapters of his journey.

Nick was more than just a companion-he was a best friend and soulmate. In love and partnership, he found happiness and hope he had never known before. He was deeply understood and cherished by someone who saw beyond the surface to the kind soul within.

May Nicholas Horstmann's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and peace to all who loved him. A Funeral Service will be held on July 30, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM at Village Lutheran Church 9237 Clayton Rd. The service will be small, but all are welcome to attend.
