I shall always remember Bro. Nick's sermon topic about Perspective and it's influence on one's reality. I shared some good times, especially fishing at the stock pond of his friend who had a domesticated deer. We didn't catch many fish, but had hours of thoughtful conversation. He also helped me get a summer job at J&J Supply after my High School Senior year. He was not your typical minister for which I can only say "Thanks, Brother Nick!"

Dear Nick, Glenda, Holt, & family,
You may not remember me very well (Nick), but from an early age I grew up at University Methodst and my family was very involved there. Your father was no less than a strategic infuence in my life. He guided me into the Christian ministry and mentored me in what it meant to serve as a pastor in a local church context. He literally shared his life with me. Among many life lessons he taught me was his habit of rising at 5:30 AM on a daily basis and then at 3:30 AM on Sundays to internalize the message he would be preaching later in the morning.
Through the years I have considered myself blessed to have been deeply marked by his life and ministry. I have now served as a missionary in Ireland for almost 25 years and I still greatly benefit from Brother Nick's influence. I pray that in the years I have remaining I might be so fortunate as to mark the lives of other younger men half as much as your father has marked mine.
I pray that God will comfort and encourage you in these days as you mourn the loss of your dad. He will always be my pastor and mentor.
Warmly in Christ,
Jesse Northcutt - Greater Europe Mission

Few men will ever deserve the title "man of God". Brother Nick was one of those few. He was my pastor during the early '60's. I always appreciated his calm, humble devotion to God and the way he made himself available, even to a young man in his early teens. I rejoice that he has entered his reward and I pray that his family is comforted during this time of separation from him.

I got to know Dr "K" while working bed control at Harris Methodist Ft Worth hospital. He told me once that "we are all put on this earth to help someone, whether it is holding a door for someone or just making someone smile". What a great way to live and he did. He will be missed.

Almost twenty years ago Dr. Kupferle married us at the then new Harris Hospital Chapel. We were the first couple to be married there and it was such an honor to have Dr. Kupferle perform the ceremony. He always bragged that he "tied a mean knot!" when it came to marriage and he was right! We're still going strong after almost twenty years! Many prayers and thoughts are being sent your way. The world was a better place because of Dr. Kuplerle. May God be with you.
Sincerely,
Katy and Frank Monroe

NICK:
You meant so much to us over the last 30 years. Thank you for those games of dominos and ice cream at our kitchen table.
Fairwell Nick...you have been a good friend and neighbor. Tell Doris we said "howdy".
