Oh Patsy, I just heard. I am truly saddened to hear of Nick's passing. He could always be counted on for a smile and a hug. He made a difference in so many lives, from the big moments I've read about here to the small smiles he provided daily. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

I am at a complete loss for words, he was an amazing man. I always enjoyed our conversations about the restaurant business and life in general. He will be greatly missed, our prays to his family.

Our deepest sympathies to all the family. We were saddened to hear of Nicks passing as we just ran into him a few days earlier and of course chatted about golf. We are sure he's golfing in heaven, but will be missed by many. RIP,

Nick was a Client of mine for the last 4 years or so. I met him through another Client, Mike Hunt, and he was a joy to work with. Nick always asked me how thing were going on in my life as we discussed his taxes. Nick made sure his information was organized in a way that I never had any questions. We would talk about golf and his annual March vacation with Family and Friends. I will miss his genuine love for life and his big smile. My thoughts and prayers are with his Family and Friends!

Dear Patsy, We're deeply saddened by your great and unexpected loss. Nicki was an unsung hero. Always upbeat. A gentle man. He was one of WAREING'gym mayors ruling the front desk with a deck of cards and a welcome greeting. But as a mother, I am deeply indebted to him for his kindness, understanding and guidance to my then 16 year old son who rode his bike to King of the Sea to his job as dishwasher. Nicki & STEPHAN challenged him. We're going to serve this many dinners tonight....can you wash enough dishes to keep up with us? Matt learned about challenge and reaching goals. One night Matt's bicycle was stolen from the back door of the restaurant. Nick made sure there was a replacement. In later years, anytime Nick saw Matt, he would give words of praise like a proud father. Patsy, the Fine family has a special connection to yours and we are deeply saddened by your loss.

Nick was so much fun to play golf with and we often talked about our families. I will miss him.....Jim Moran

Patsy, Stephen, Rene, Stephan and family, we had just gotten back Sanibel and received a text from my friend, Jim Martinette who was at Butch Maloney's memorial service about Nick's untimely passing. Nick and Butch are now surfing that perfect, endless wave. What a nice guy and icon of the VB Oceanfront. He will by missed by the many folks that he touched. Our deepest condolences to all of you. Great memories of "Nicky" will live on...

I'm so sorry to hear of Nick's passing. Nick was my first boss, and taught me more in one summer in that kitchen than many have taught me in many years since! He and Stephan were yin and yang, and it was a privilege to work for the Michaels family! Sending condolences from the Cohen Family and a great thanks for sharing Nicky with all of us!

Nick Michaels was one of the finest people one could meet. We communicated over the many years. I first met him in 1963 when I was a bellhop at the Seahawk motel and he was running the King of the Sea. I will miss his conversation and wit.

Our families go way back to the "old" Virginia Beach days when life was so different and uncomplicated. Have very many fond memories of the Michaels and Napier families. My heart goes out to all of you. Hope the many good memories will in some measure comfort you now. He will truly be missed.

I had the pleasure of working at King of the Sea with the Michaels brothers in the mid 90's. Nick was always upbeat and a great gentleman to work with. His practice golf swings occasionally cracked me up during work. I know he will be greatly missed. My condolences to Patsy and the entire Michaels family. Virginia Beach has lost a real treasure. Rest in peace dear Nick.
