Nik,
It’s been a year since we lost you and received that phone call that no parent should receive. There is not a day that goes by that we do not miss you and think about you. It has been a very hard year for both of us without you. You will always be in our hearts.

To Nick,
It so hard for me to type right now... I miss you so much... it seems like it was just yesterday that we were in high school.... I still remember hugging you on the last day of school in 10th grade while you still had a cast on your leg, I held you in my arm, not wanting to let go... during senior year.. I wanted to go to prom with you, but it seemed like you were busy.... now I truly know what they mean when they say “in life you won’t regret the things you’ve one, but u will regret the things u didn’t do" If I could turn back the time, I would turn it back to when I last hugged you in 10 grade, I would hold you and not let go; I would tell you that I liked you and that your eyes are so beautiful, sometimes when I stare in your beautiful eyes, I get lost in them... you will always be in my heart... and the back of my mind I love you Nick, and now I wished I'd told you that earlier. But, we will meet again someday; don’t be afraid, someday I’ll be right beside you dear... RIP… you will be in my prayers when I pray. and lastly I wanted to say, I'm sorry for telling you that you looked like fezz from that 70 show, you said you didn't mind, but if I did, forgive me... and now please give me the strength and courage to move on and find true love one day to fulfill the emptiness you left me with. I will remember to love; because you taught me how to... forever your scent will linger on me.. I love you Nick... and will love you always...

Dear Scott and Donna,

As close and Nick and I got over our long friendship, I never got to visit with you two to tell you how much I appreciated the kindness of your family. Now is as good a time as any to tell you how much I love the both of you and as difficult is it may be for me to stomach Nick's loss it must be exponentially more trying for you guys. I just wanted to say that you're in my thoughts and wishes and that if we all stick together we can heal. Just by myself I have over ten years of wonderful memories of Nick to look back on and you guys must have many more.

Nick was such a wonderful and beautiful human being. We all loved his laughter, his spirit, and his joy. The 2005 New Orleans Band Trip would not have been the same without him. I recently lost my husband, and, although it is different than losing a child, I can tell you that the happy memories of your son will eventually (it takes a long time) become those you think of most. Dear family of Nick,
We are deeply saddened by Nick's passing and offer you our heartfelt condolences. As a friend of our daughter, Rachel, Nick spent quite a bit of time with our family. We have many wonderful memories of him. He helped carry our giant puppets in the May Day parade. One year he had his leg in a cast but still he recruited other teens to help and then rigged up a cart so we could push/pull him and he could join us by carrying a sign. I remember the evenings he hung out around the firepit with us, sharing his feelings and concerns. I remember him making Christmas cookies with us and joining our boys for D&D games. He was a wonderful young man, a very sensitive soul. We miss him and are thinking of you during this difficult time.

I knew Nick from last year, when he played the bassoon with the South High Community Band. A very nice young man, a good soul. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am Jim Hannon's niece and Jim and Alice's cousin. I was very sorry to hear of your loss and offer you my heartfelt sympathy.
