Jon, our heart felt condolences to you and your family. One need only read the tributes from others about Nick to see what an amazing young man did with his time on this earth. His accomplishments and his concern for his fellow human beings show his character and compassion. We mourn his loss but we must also celebrate a life well lived, as the world has been made a better place by his life.

If you know Leslie - you know of her tremendous love of her children and to know of Nicholas' life is to know that he is one of the strongest, ambitious, and loving people, just a remarkable story. My sincerest condolences go to Leslie, Rachel and their family and loved ones. Heaven has gained an Angel. May the adventurous life and memories comfort those who had the luxury of interacting with such a beautiful soul.

I am very sorry to hear this news. I had the pleasure of working with Nick throughout his High School years. As a teacher, we always strive and hope we have made a positive impression on our students. Then there are those students who touch your very soul. Nick was certainly one of those students; so strong, so courageous and so light hearted and kind regardless of his struggles. Nick will always be one of my most memorable students! My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I only know Nick and his family through a touchingly beautiful obituary in a local weekly. I typically would not take note of obituaries about persons I do not know but the handsome, smiling image of this young man required me to stop and spend a minute recounting his too-short life. Both Nick’s life and death are profound testimonies to strength, love, hope and courage. I honor Nick’s family for sharing so much about Nick. My heart aches for all those who were blessed to know Nick during the 27 years he spent on earth. While I do not presume to think one person’s grief as being different from another’s, I was especially struck when learning Nick is survived by Rachel, his twin. Losing your twin must be a pain few can ever begin to understand. I think of a future in which our earthly energy is only magnified. I can only believe that Nicks’s extraordinary courage will continue to flow through the hearts and lives of all those who never forget him.

Nick was truly a kind and patient young man. I had the please of knowing him through the dental office. We got to know him through the years, seeing him regularly. He was always cheerful and polite. He was super accommodating and helpful - actually trying to make sure that WE were comfortable while working on him in his chair! He will be truly missed and my heart goes out to Leslie and family.
