Please accept my sincerest condolences.
I have never met Nick, but we share a number of Rallo as ancestors.
I am truly sorry I didn't manage to find and reach Nick before he passed away, looking at his company's website I can understand how proud he was of his family business heritage, he would have likely liked to hear that actually his granddad Nicolò brought across the Atlantic an even much older family tradition, as their direct ancestors from Mazara, Sicily: Pietro (1864-1899), Calogero (1841-1916), Pietro (1814-1856), Calogero (1790-1864), Giuseppe (-1809) and a yet unnamed Mr Rallo (-1809) were all butchers, meat cutters and meat sellers. Nick was in the 9th consecutive generation of his family trade, a family tradition older than 200 years, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if this line is actually much longer and older.

My sympathy to all family and friends. I am in North Carolina and cannot make it to the funeral. I knew Nick since 7th grade. I wish I could be there for the service.

I was Nicks housekeeper in his Effingham Lake home. What a priviledge to work for such a character.,.and a fine man of character. He recently asked me if I was happy with my profession.,and to go back in time.,would I change it and do something different. I said I often wished I would of been a nurse.,but I enjoyed what I was doing.,and had I not done this occupation, I wouldnt have gotten to meet the wonderful people I clean for...,so No, I guess I didn't wish I would of chosen anything else. I then said to him..,How about you.,what would you of done??....,Something different? He paused a moment and said, I think I would of liked to have been a teacher maybe. , but like you, I also enjoy my job I have had all these yrs. -Today.,I realized something. He may of not had a certificate/degree of studies, saying he was a teacher....,but he taught so many people, lessons, values, and morals during his time here on earth. Thank you my employer, teacher, friend. I will carry your life lessons and words of wisdom with me always. Godspeed to you. See ya again some day!

My heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Nick. I've been their Salesman/FRIEND for over almost 15 years. Nick and Pee Wee are two of the funniest/craziest Guys I have ever known. Nick, as of a few weeks ago, would ALWAYS give me heartfelt advice about life in general. I am truly Saddened by the Shocking Loss of a Man of such character who will ALWAYS have a Special place in my heart. Nick, you will be greatly missed by All!! It was truly an honor to call you my friend!! I love you and Salute you Sir!! "You're a Great Man!!"
As the late great Jack Buck would say, "SO LONG FOR JUST A WHILE!"

Blessings to your family in this time of both grief and celebration of a great life. As a young boy, I was neighbors to Nick Rallo and his family on Blackbird Drive in Florissant, MO. I recall Nick -- although an adult -- being a playful and energetic "big kid" that would challenge neighbor boys in games (Riess, Block, Willie kids). Rather than telling us to "get off my lawn" -- he was the guy that expected us to use his lawn for fun.

God Bless you sir. My parents have been shopping at Rallo Meats ever since it opened in St Charles. Then, later in years I had the privilege of knowing and having a class with your late son Timmy. Prayers sending R.I.P Mr. Rallo
