God looked down on your body, So tired from hanging on,
From a life that was overwhelming you,
And wanted back his son.
So he took away the air you breathe,
And gave you what was best,
A place to be at peace,
A final place to rest.

Rich,

I am so sorry to hear about the death of your nephew. I don't even know if you remember me from M of M. When I first heard the story about Nick, I wasn't sure if it was the Rossini Family I knew. When I saw Nick's picture, I was positive he was related to you (he looks very similar to you). My youngest son (Jake) is a senior at WBL with your niece Rita.
Rich & the rest of the Rossini Family has my deepest sympathy.

To the Rossini family-
I have known Emily for 2 years now and have been through a lot with her. I know how much her family means to her. Many times she has talked to me about certain things, and I can't tell you enough how much her family means to her. I can't imagine what it is like for her and the rest of the family. I will do everything in my power to support the family with my thoughts and prayers. All of Clarke College will be with Emily, and will support her and her family always. We all have to realize that Nick is in such a much better place. I wish I would have gotten to know him. May God be with him and the rest of his family through this time, and for the future.

Father we entrust our brother Nicholas to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Nichaolas in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathy.

Nick was an amazing squadmate. He made my first West Point summer fun with his humor and his spirited attitude. He'll always be in our hearts and he will continue to be an inspiration for every person he interacted with at the Academy. I hope that memories of him will bring you joy, peace and strength. Nick lived a wonderful life. He will be missed.

Mark and Pat (and family),

We don't know you, but our sons were at South Campus together for a year. Nick was a Senior when Micah was a Junior.

We are extremely sorry for your loss, but know that we feel your pain and identify with your loss. It is has been a little over 19 months since our son, Micah drowned in Otter Lake. We miss him every hour of every day. All of your heartache we know personally. All of your tears we have shed yesterday and will continue to shed in the future.

Losing a child is a nightmare none of us wants to experience, however, please know that we have you in our prayers. We pray that our Heavenly Father will bless you with caring, supportive family and friends. We pray that God will grant you His Peace and His Strength during this time of sorrow.

In Matthew 5:4, Jesus tells us “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” We didn't want to be comforted, we just wanted our boy back (and still do!), but looking back over the past months, we can see God's hand in our lives. He will comfort you and give your strength if you ask Him.

When the shock of your loss starts to lift and as the pain begins to become a little more bearable, please know that we are available to help if you want someone to talk to. This change may take weeks or months, but know that when it comes, we will be here if you need a sympathetic ear that really does understand your terror, your heartbreak, your confusion, your questions, your anger, etc. please call us anytime.

God Bless,
Tommy and Michele Thompson [Micah's mom and dad]

To the Rossini Family,

I am sure by now you have come to see that Nick was one of the best people anyone has ever known. He was charismatic, loyal, and always willing to lend a hand. He made everyone laugh, which is why people loved to be around him. He brightened everyone's day and put smiles on people's faces.

I was thankful enough to have known him while I did. He left me with wonderful memories that will never be forgotten. He truly was one of a kind!

To Nick,

We will miss you more than you know. You were an incredible person and I could never forget you! I could not have asked for a better friend. Until we meet again Nick.

Sounds like people's lives are better for having been touched by Nick. May God bring you comfort in your memories and His tender care. Sending prayers to your family.

In one sense there is no death.
The life of a soul on earth lasts beyond his departure
You will always feel that life touching yours,
that voice speaking to you, that spirit looking
out of other eyes.,
talking to you in the familiar things he touched, worked with,
loved as familiar friends.
He lives on in your life and in the lives of all others that knew him.

What can be said about Nick that hasn't already been said. He was one of the coolest and nicest guys that ANYONE could ever meet. Lets be honest here, he had "The Gene" (Emily knows what I am talking about especially!) Nick was a guy who could walk into a board meeting and in 5 minutes have the streamers shooting off, balloons flying and yet still get the paper work done. I dont think any of us will ever meet a man as amazing as Nick was. He will truly be missed but there is no way I will ever be able to forget how special he was.

To the Rossini family I would like to say that I am SO sorry about all of this. I feel so special to have met you all through playing sports with Nick and I am truly blessed. You really are the greatest family I have ever met and I just want to say that I love you all. After all, who else gets away with calling Mark, "MARK!"

Rossini's- All of you know better than anyone else how amazing Nick was. He was full of energy and happiness. I had a crush on him when I first met him in acting class my freshmen year, but that ended quickly when I became close friends with Emily. I witnessed what an amazing brother he was to all of his sisters; cracking some jokes here and there but always looking after them with that brotherly love. I pray that memories of Nick can be the rays of sunlight through your sadness. Let God embrace you and pour out all of the love that has been sent up in prayers for you and for Nick. God bless.

To the Rossini Family,
Words cannot express my sorrow for your terrible loss. You are the parents and sisters of an amazing person. Nick was one of the most genuinely wonderful people that I had the pleasure to know. He was an inspiration for us all, and he will be missed by so many. I cannot even imagine how many peoples lives he had such a positive impact on, but I feel truly blessed to have been able to call him my friend.
I will be keeping Nick, your family, and all of his amazing friends in my prayers for the many months to come. Memories will help ease the pain, and when you have those memories pop into your mind, know that those are blessings from Nick as well.
I'm sorry that I won't be able to make it home this weekend for the services, but know that everyone here in Milwaukee from White Bear, as well as many of our friends here, are praying for you all.

April 19, 2007

To the entire Rossini family,
Although our paths have never crossed, you have been in my prayers for the last four months. There are no words that will ease the pain or help your heart, that I know. On Thanksgiving morning I lost my 20 year old brother in an accident. I pray that the Lord will bring you peace and comfort. May there be loving hearts to help heal your broken hearts, and gentle hands to dry your tears. Although I have never met Nick, it sounds as though he was one of a kind and an exceptional young man. I pray that when you awake in the morning you will be greeted by the beautiful sound of birds and warm sunshine on your face. When you lay your head on your pillow at night, I pray that Lord calms you mind and sends wonderful dreams. To Nick's siblings: Hang on to each other right now. Tell stories and remember the wonderful memories that you have. You are not alone. There are so many people that are thinking of you and praying for you. May each and every day that you live bring you one day closer to seeing your beautiful Angel in Heaven. What a wonderful day that will be. God bless each and every one of you.

April 19, 2007

To Nick, Mark, Pat, Julia, Gina, Emily, Rita and Frances,

Although I pride myself on having an uncanny ability of finding the right words to express myself in my essays and papers at the academy, I neither know how to express the way I am feeling right now, nor could convey a message of condolence that is profoundly meaningful and sincere enough to do justice to the intent. What lesson would I have learned from Nick, however, if I did not atleast make the attempt?

For now and forever, Nick will live on through those who knew him. This will be his legacy. His charisma, sincerity, and his determination have inspired not only me, but also many others. He was a remarkable young man and a good friend. Nick was taken much too early and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

I will not be able to attend the services in Minnesota. West Point traditionally holds a rare twilight vigil for cadets who pass during their tenure at the academy. I will honor his memory at the vigil, and keep you all in my thoughts and prayers as we all see him off.

To the family of Nicolas Rossini,

My sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved son, brother, grandchild and nephew.

I did not know Nicholas but from his picture he looked so full of life and such a great smile. In fact he looks so much like his Uncle Rich.

Keep all the memories that you have of him close to hearts for he will still be watching over all of you from above.

God Speed.

Dear Rossini Family,
I have followed Nick's story in the newspaper. Although I don't know you, I have kept you all in my prayers. I lost my son at age 25, so I know firsthand the nightmarish anguish you are experiencing. May you feel the love, caring and concern of those close to you, and even that of strangers, as you grieve for your wonderful Nick.

Our family has known the Rossini's for almost 13 years now. Nick has always been one of the greatest people we have ever met. He just had a light about him that no one could match. He was amazing and touched so many lives. Our prayers are with the Rossini family and all of their friends. We love you guys.

What a beautiful smile Nick had...my heart is so heavy for the loss of Nick. Even though I didn't personally know your family; my son Matt played sports and graduated with Nick. Being from WBL much of my life, I too, feel the loss when someone special in our community is taken away. God Bless you and your family.

Rossini family,
My family is also from WBL and my younger brothers knew Nick from high school and playing sports there. I have heard nothing but good things about Nick. We've been praying for your family since we heard he was missing. We are so very sorry for your loss and please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care
