My last phone conversation with Nick was not long before his death. He talked about entering a clinical trial for treatment of his worsening condition and prognosis. He was upbeat, never complaining, and looking to 'beat this thing'. I still miss him...

I am so sorry for you loss. Nick was the first boss I had after PTA school and it was such a joy to work for him. Everyday he walked in the door at work he had a big smile on his face that would light up the room. He was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed. May God bless your family and shine Nick's love down on you always.

A friend, co-worker, and partner in many good times... We talked occasionally over the past couple of years - remembering past times and making plans for the future. I will miss his smile, his wit and most of all, his deep caring and appreciation for his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him....

I am sorry for your loss....Nick was a great man.... I first met him at a physical therapy convention in the early 90's....we became instant friends...I only wish I could have enjoyed some more time with him....but am so blessed to have had the opportunity to spend some fleeting moments with a special guy.....

Mrs. Stephens and Family,

It deeply saddens me to hear that Mr. Stephens has passed away. I had the pleasure of working with him and his lovely wife Pricella on the purchase of their condo. In the little time that I worked with him I found that he was a great man, loving husband and great father. I could tell that he lived life to the fullest, we talked about going for drinks when he came into town the next time. Nick, may you rest in peace...I will have that drink we talked about in honor of your memory. You will be missed Nick!!

Dearest Priscilla: As we all know, Nick was that very special person we all knew and loved. I knew Nick over 20 years and had the privilege of knowing and working with him. What a joy he was to all who were around him. He had the most awesome smile, one that made you smile when you saw him. I had several opportunities to visit with him after his illness developed and he never complained. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know that Nick is at peace but will live in our hearts for forever. He was just that kind of person you don't forget. My God grant you peace in knowing that he is at peace and no longer has to suffer. May God Bless you all.

Most of my earliest memories somehow involve Nick. He's been around my entire life and I am sorry to see he's gone. He was a kind, loving, generous and fun man. I know he and my dad are having a grand reunion in Margaritaville right now.

My deepest sympathy. I owe a lot of where I am today to Nick. He hired me in 1986 as a PT tech then encouraged me through college.I have been a practicing PTA for 21 years now--thanks Nick for all you taught me. Great times. May the angels present you to God most high and may your family be held in His comforting arms. with love and gratitude, Lori (Wehmeyer)McGrew

We met Nick in 1980, when my husband Rick played softball with him. He was such a joyful, loving man, always fun to be around. If there is fishing in heaven (and why wouldn't there be?) Nick and Rick are together catching all they can handle, and their boat will never break down!
So glad to have known him! Peggy Rucker
