I met Nick over 30 years ago, along with his two brothers, while fishing in Bristol Bay. We had some great times together and I always enjoyed seeing Nick and hearing his raspy voice stories. I´m deeply saddened to hear of his passing and wish to send his family my condolences. Rest in peace my young friend.

I met Nick at Scott's Bar and Grill, in Shoreline, just before the pandemic. I was a stranger to him and introduced myself as a long time fan of Deadliest Catch. He was humble, honest and genuine. Shared some of his life on the Nortwestern. What a gentleman. RIP Nick

Nick was one of my favorite people on Deadliest Catch. His work ethic, personality, and toughness were unmatched. My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and Crab Fisher community, and all who knew and loved him. Fair winds and following seas, sir. RIP Nick Mavar. God speed
