Eulogy for NICOLA FALSETTO:

In March of 1931, a precious baby boy was born in Cleto, Italy. He was the second child of 5, born to Anna and Pietro Falsetto. His siblings are Giuseppina Fata, Maria Fermo, Ofelia Falsetti, and Fortunato Falsetto. Those days were very poor times and this young boy discovered what it meant to be a man very quickly. He loved his family very much and therefore, helped with the responsibility of supporting his family by working at various places; for example, in the fields, crushing olives. His sense of responsibility for his family was selfless. In fact, helping and giving was his way of life. That baby boy was our dad, Nicola Falsetto, one of the most remarkable men of his time.
In September of 1959, both mom and dad migrated to Canada. He finally married the love of his life, our beautiful mom, Lina. Our dad had to wait seven years before he could marry our mom. Our mom was the youngest of the girls in her family, and in those days, custom was that the older girls must marry first!
Once he arrived in Canada, our dad worked very hard to earn a living. He worked many different jobs, but mostly in construction, paving and cement work. Our dad was a respectful man with everyone. His happy and funny nature made him an easy person to get along with. Everywhere he went; there was always somebody who knew Nicola Falsetto.
Together with our mom, they raised 5 children. Our home was always surrounded by family. Since our parents were the first to migrate from each of their families, our home was opened to their siblings when they came to begin their life in Canada. Once they were settled, our home consisted of dad, mom, us five children, our grandfather and two uncles. There were 10 of us at the dinner table every night. We used to call ourselves “The Waltons”
Did you know that our dad was a very good dancer? In fact, each time we were at a wedding, my sisters and I would fight over who would get to dance certain songs with him. For example, Delilah or the Tarantella! Yes, our dad taught us how to dance! He was so proud when he was on the dance floor with any one of his daughters.
Our dad set good examples for his boys by being a good family man. Our home was always full of love. He demonstrated this first, through loving our mom. She made it very easy for him and everyone, as she is a remarkable woman of love and peace. Together they always made our home a loving place to come back to.
Our dad was very proud of his home. He got to enjoy his custom built Bungalow for 15 years, and his door was open to anyone, anytime. He loved company and they loved him! He was proud to offer many of us his homemade sausage and homemade wine.
Our dad was the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren, Teresa, Amanda, Stephanie, Diana, Lisa, Carmine, Lina, Anthony, Nicola, and Ava. He also has 1 grandchild on the way and one great grandchild, Tobias. He adored each and every one of them, and they in turn all cherished their Nonno!
He taught us 5 children many things, such as not taking anything or anyone for granted; but most of all, loving and respecting everyone. He loved us and our mom with a great passion right to his last breath. In fact, one of his last words was that he loved EVERYONE!
All the flowers, cards, food, tears and everyone here today, show how you all return your love. This means a lot to us. THANK YOU.
In closing, Pope John XXIII once said, "It's easier for a father to have children than for children to have a real father.”
OUR FATHER WAS A REAL FATHER. HE WAS OUR HERO AND OUR LOVE.
Good Bye Papa!

Dear Daddy:

A special person, a special face, someone I LOVE and can't replace. Never selfish, always kind, these are the memories daddy, you left behind.
You are LOVED with a love beyond all telling. Missed with a grief beyond all tears.
You are and will be forever in my heart, papa!
May God hold you in the palm of his hand and may you enjoy the beauty and glory of heaven. You deserve it Papa!

Tua Figlia,
Anna

Dear Peter and Frank and family,
I was so sad to see Peter's post last night about your dad's passing. I was at a loss for words. Losing my dad was the hardest thing that I'd ever had to go through. I know the pain you are feeling. Know that your dad is no longer suffering and is in a better place. All of his grandkids now how their own angel watching over them. Talk about your dad every day and he will live on with you forever. Although I didn't know him personally, I can tell from photos that he was very proud of his family. Keep this with you forever. Thinking of you in this very difficult time.

Our most sincere condolences to all of his family and friends alike.
We are all suffering a great loss but we know how lucky and blessed we were to have known such a nice, kind, loving and generous man but even more so, to be related to him.
Zio Nicola will be missed immensely by all of us but we hope his wife and children will be comforted knowing how very special a human being he was and has left behind a treasured legacy; his beautiful family.
We wish Zia Lina and her children and families, prayers and thoughts during the difficult time of sorrow.
We loved him dearly and he will be in our hearts forever and never to be forgotten.
May he rest in the arms of our Lord, in eternal peace.
