Niels Jensen Obituary
He was born October 17, 1928 in Naur, Denmark. As a young man he served in the King's Guard in Denmark for 2 years, actually guarding the King and his castle. He came to the United States in 1954 to work at his uncle's greenhouse on Center Rd. in Avon. He worked at B.F. Goodrich in Avon Lake, retiring in 1994 after 33 years of service. In 1966 he started Pine Haven Greenhouse in Avon. He ran the greenhouse until his sons took over the management of the family business in 1994. He was an active member of Avon Baptist Church, volunteering as a deacon. He loved going to church and was an ordained minister. To honor Niels' memory, he would have loved for everyone to attend church on Sunday. He served on Avon's City Council in the 1990's. He enjoyed watching sports with his sons and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sally Ann (nee Loebich) Jensen; children Belinda (Michael) Devine, Bryan (Kim), Bruce (Charlene), Becky Jensen, and Bridget (Aaron) Corriveau, all of Avon; grandchildren, Amy, Matt (Michelle), Tim, Brittney (Joe), Brett, Chris, Cassie, Bethany, Caden, Drake, Ella; great-grandchildren, Stephen, Madalyn, Mason, Brooklin, and Brynn; sisters, Gerda, and Rita, of Lemvig, Denmark.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marinus and Margarthe (nee Jensen); a 4 year old brother Ville, and another brother also named Ville, and his wife's parents. Ralph and Margaret (nee Duffy) Loebich.
Family will receive friends at a memorial visitation on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until time of parlor service at 7:00 P.M. at MISENCIK FUNERAL HOME, 36363 Detroit Rd Avon, where Pastor Paul Hendrix of Avon Baptist Church will officiate. Private interment in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Avon Baptist Church, 2575 Stoney Ridge Rd. Avon. 44011.

Sally and family,
We are sad to hear of Niels passing. I am so glad we had a long talk with him at Bryan's event last fall. I served on City Council with him and Cindy and I always enjoyed visiting with him at Pinehaven. We were so sorry to hear that Niels had passed. I had worked with him for many years at BFG. Such a sweet man who always had a kind word whenever we would talk. Our family got our christmas trees for many years at Pinehaven because of Niels. He would always give our little boy (at the time) a small poinsettia which he would proudly keep in his room. Such happy memories. Rest in Peace, Niels. You will be missed.
