Nina Jacobs was born in Torun, Poland on October 4, 1928. She passed away February 24, 2018 after a long illness. She and her immediate family managed to be on the last ship to leave Europe as WW2 began. Nina was an artist, an actress, a teacher, a model, a photographer, a political activist and a confidant to numerous friends. She attended the Chicago Art Institute, the San Francisco Art Institute, graduated from San Francisco State College with Magna Cum Laude honors, and received her masters degree from Ohio State University. She created an art program for a local school district, and then taught at the high school level as a substitute teacher, almost full time, at Tamalpais High in Marin County. Nina Jacobs is survived her husband Robert L. Jacobs; also by sister-in-law Shari Jacobs, cousins Carol Strange, Sally Baker, Fred Abbey, and Karen Sundheim. Service will be held in the Chapel at Home of Peace Cemetery, Colma, at 1:30pm, Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Donations may be made to the World Jewish Congress, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Hadassah, the Southern Poverty Law or the Alzheimer's Association.
