Lombardozzi family - I just learned of Nino's passing and want to express my sincere condolences. For four wonderful years at Central, I had the pleasure to sit in front of Nino for Homeroom, had our lockers by each other, and shared numerous other classes. Nino always had a smile on his face and would call me 'Trevs,'...I'd call him 'Nins.' I wish we'd kept in touch more, but I did catch up with him when we had our rehearsal dinner at your restaurant. Nino was a solid guy and Nino made the world a better place. My prayers and thoughts are with your family. Sincerely, Trevor Lloyd, '89

Someone who understands

December 22, 2008

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dear Lombardozzi family, I was shocked when I heard the news of Nino. He was such a great man and a great friend to all those fortunate enough to know him. When my friend had his rehersal dinner at the restaurant Nino came over to me and talked about how me and him used to play down stairs of the restaurant when we was kids! I was surprised he remembered that since it was so long ago. Every time I saw Nino he made me feel like we was kids and I will NEVER forget him. Your entire family will be in mine and my family's prayers God bless you. John Snipes

Lombardozzi Family:

I am so saddened by the loss of Nino. I can remember when he was a newborn and was in his bassinette. I would always come over and just watch him sleep. He was adorable. I remeber growing up in Bloomfield and always playing with the neighborhood kids. We had so many great memories and great friends. I stopped in the restaurant a few months back to pick up soup for my sister who was having chemo. I asked how everyone was and a nice guy told me Nino was on his honeymoon. I wish I could have met him. It has been so many years in between but I always thought of your family. I wish I could have made it to the viewing but I recently had surgery and did not have the strength to make it. I will always keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Please know that I am feeling your pain and mourn with you. My mom and brother stopped yesterday and told me all about your family and hopefully one day I will get the chance to see you again to give you my sympathy and hugs in person. Hold onto to the memories they will help you through the most difficult times ahead. They say when you find a penny that an angel tossed them from heaven. May all of you find many. I will always have a heavy heart for your loss.

Sincerely,
Alison (CILLO) Wagner

Dear Melissa and Lombardozzi Family,
Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am to hear the news about Nino. Nino has been one of Shaun's, my husband, best friends for 19 years. He was with Shaun the night I met him 12 years ago and because he was a friend of Shaun's, he became of friend of mine. He was in our wedding when we got married in 2001 and Shaun was in his wedding this past April. I can honestly say that there are very few TRUE friends in this world and Nino was certainly a true friend. I am so grateful that I was able to see Nino when he visited Jacksonville in October. Melissa - I am so thankful to have gotten to know you because of Nino. And even though your child will never know him, I hope you can find some comfort in the fact that he has so many friends that know and love him and who can tell him/her everything they could ever want to know about him! You will be in my thoughts and prayers forever. Heather Ferenc
