Nora Campos Obituary
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Nora Jean Campos (Garcia). She was called to heaven on November 25, 2021. She was born in Hatch, NM on March 18, 1954 to Juan and Eva Garcia. At a young age Nora worked on the family farm where she was taught to have strong work ethics. After graduating from Hatch Valley High School, Nora moved to Las Cruces where she worked at various jobs before devoting herself to working with the elderly at Casa Del Sol Nursing home for over 30 years. Nora had a very big heart and always willing to help those in need. We find comfort in knowing she is longer in pain and can rest in peace with those who have gone before her.
It saddens us to know we will no longer hear her contagious laugh, hear about her adventures to Ruidoso with her sister, listening to her sing to country music or to eat her famous egg rolls. We will miss her elaborate crochet items at Christmas time which she made every year for us. She enjoyed making her arts and crafts with her grandsons to enter them at the Southern New Mexico State Fair.
Left to mourn is her one and only son, Jonathan Campos (Carla). Their children Abram, Laurence, Danielle, JJ, Nathaniel, Adrian and Andrew. Her siblings Juanita Madrid (Leroy), Cindy Gutierrez (Armando) and Marcello Garcia (Natalie) and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Helen Garcia, and her longtime companion, Johnny Miramontes.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:00 am on December 17, 2021 at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church, 117 Hartman St. in Hatch, where the Memorial Mass will follow. Inurnment of cremains will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her father. We would like to thank her caregiver Lupe from Home Kare of Dona Ana for always caring for Nora with the love and the upmost respect.

My condolences to the family. I worked with Nora for a few years and she always made me laugh. She was a good person with a big heart. I always enjoyed running into Nora and talking to her. She will be missed.
