I have known Joe and Nora all my life. I went to Scotland Church of God with my mom and dad and with my Grandmother (Sister Hammond). When I started in the ministry back in the early 1970s Joe bound my bible in leather for me. I still have it and use it often. My Prayers are with the family and my memories of Nora are full of grace. I remember her smile and contagious laugh.

My heart is sad to see her go, but I know she is so happy to be with her beloved husband, Joe, and her savior. I was a teen in the Scotland Church of God when I first met Brother and Sister Gubser, 26 years ago. Their spritual depth and understanding are still models to me even after they both have gone to be with the Lord. Sister Gubser was always a kind and gentle woman and a gracious host. My children loved her peacock feather bouquets and her stories. I will always think of her when the white jonquils at the church bloom. We will miss her.

Nora was a wonderful, gracious woman of God who consistently loved others and showed interest in and concern for others. Even the last time I saw her, when we caroled to her shortly before Christmas, although she didn't remember any of us by name, she showed love for the Lord and for the Scotland Church of God. It is wonderful to know she is now in the presence of the Lord she loved so much.
