Nora Jacques

NORA JACQUES (NEE BOUVIER)- Nora passed away suddenly on November 13, 2008 at the age of 95 years. She was born near Botineau, North Dakota on September 13, 1913. She was predeceased by her husband Gaston in 1971; her parents Elphie and Anna Bouvier; three brothers Armand, Raymond and Maurice Bouvier. She is survived by her six children: Henriette (Ray) Gaudreau of Calgary, AB, Helen (Alex) Bolen of Esterhazy, SK, Lawrence (Irma) Jacques of Nanoose Bay, BC, Eugene (Laurianne) Jacques of Regina, Armande (Murray) Busby of Calgary, AB and Germaine Jacques of Summerside, PEI. She also leaves behind twenty grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Della Becker and her brother Leo (Germaine) Bouvier, both of Gravelbourg, her brother Gerald (Ann) Bouvier of Regina, SK; her sister-in-law Marguerite Jacques of Edmonton, AB. Nora moved to the Gravelbourg, SK area, where she lived for most of her life, from North Dakota with her parents in 1913. She married Gaston Jacques in 1932 and they farmed in the Gravelbourg area until 1967 when they moved to town due to Gaston's poor health. Nora lived in her own home until 1995 when she left Gravelbourg and moved to Esterhazy, SK where she lived in a seniors complex. She lived in Esterhazy for five years and then moved to Regina to live at Marian Chateau, an Independent Living Complex in Regina, where she resided until her death. Prayers for Nora will be held on Sunday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. and her funeral will be held on Monday, November 17 at 10:00 a.m. Both the prayers and the funeral will be at St Jean Baptiste Parish, 2517 25th Avenue, Regina, SK. She will be buried in Gravelbourg, SK at a private family ceremony. Nora's wishes were that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to donate, do so to St. Jean Baptiste Parish towards the completion of the stained glass mural or to another charity of their choice.
