Norah MURPHY Obituary
Judy Murphy surrounded by loving family and friends, passed away peacefully at the age of 74. Dearly beloved wife of D'Arcy Murphy for 51 years. Cherished mother to Jennifer Murphy-Zaremba (David) and Michael Murphy (Janet). Loving grandmother and Nanny to Kaytlyn and Bryana; Paige, Lauren, and Thomas. Predeceased by parents Arthur Henry Smith and Helen Craig Smith (nee Bryson) and brother Brian Cameron Smith. Judy is survived by her dearest sister Nancy Bajurny (Gary). Sister-in-law to Adele Sheahan (Patrick), Brother-in-law to Bruce Murphy (Gigi), Aunt to Shawn Murphy (deceased), Trevor Smith, Christopher (Penny), Andrea Dyal (Brian), David and Michael Bajurny. Fondly remembered by her long time and closest friend Charlene Thorhauge. Judy travelled extensively in her life. She will be remembered fondly by work colleagues and her many friends around the world. The family wishes to thank all the staff of 5NW at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus and the staff of 5E at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital, for their kindness and attentive care.
To celebrate Judy's life, friends and family are invited to visit the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Wednesday April 22, 2015 for a memorial service at 11 a.m., followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Crohn's and Colitis Canada or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.

Only just read of Judy's passing and remember her fondly from childhood to the last time I met her in 1998 at my home in Acton. Sympathies to Gary and Nancy.

Denise and I just heard yesterday (December 7) about Judy's passing from Don MacKay who himself only just heard the other day. We are deeply saddened by the news and extend our sincerest condolences to D'Arcy and his family.

I was sorry to read of Judy's death - we met frequently when we lived on Dunbarton, while she was dog walking and I took a welcome break from back breaking weeding - many common experiences as Foreign Service wives. I only met you once, D'Arcy, when you too were walking the dog with Judy. Jennifer, you were my bank manager when I needed help to change bank arrangements after I was widowed, and David had kindly taken care of vital tasks - small world. Judy will be sorely missed. My condolences and sympathies to you all.

Memories of my favourite aunt: her laugh, her hugs, visiting her in England when I was 18, enjoying many yummy dinners (& doing laundry!) at her house, which was my second home when I was living in Ottawa for school, hosting a bridal shower when I got married, and remembering when she came to San Diego for my wedding. I will miss her so much. My thoughts are with my cousins, especially Jen (who is like a sister to me), my mom Nancy, and Uncle D'Arcy.
