Mr. Power called the Cancer Centre one day to speak to Dr. Gertler. I said my name when I answered the phone and he told me I had a beautiful name. He asked me if I knew why it was a beautiful name. I said no and he said because it's his wife's name. What a very nice man.

I had the pleasure of playing hockey with Dick. His presence on and off the ice was always enjoyable. He will be missed by the Old Buzzard Hockey League.

It’s extremely sad to hear of Dick’s passing. He had a great positive and helpful attitude and through his efforts I got my first coop job that put much needed direction in my life. I will always remember him as the person who gave me my first break. I feel a depth of gratitude to him, my deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Dick has been a wonderful ambassador for Newfoundland. What a man! What a full life he has lived. I have worked with him for the last three years and will miss him greatly. He was an incredibly "gentle...man" who had a positive outlook on everything. I will be in Newfoundland on Thursday in spirit. What about those Redwings, buddy!!!??? And to Dick's lovely soulmate Cynthia, my tears and prayers are with you.
Love, Joni

Dick provided Hydro Ottawa with some very fine coop students over the past five years. We are extremely sad to hear of his passing. Our sincere condolences to Dick's family and collegues.
