HAMFELT _ Norm Bertil 1923 - 2003 Norm Sune Bertil Hamfelt passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Sunday, December 7, 2003, at the age of 80 years. Norm will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Florence (nee Holt); his son Norman (Meara) and grandchildren, Adrian, Julia and Amelia; and his son Ron (Michelle) and grandchildren, Melissa and Michael and their mother Rosalind. Norm will also be lovingly remembered by his sister Aina Hald; his lifelong best friend Doug (Ann) Holt; and brother Gus (Connie) Hamfelt and their families. Norm was born on March 23, 1923, in Malmo, Sweden. As a child, his family immigrated to Montreal. During World War II, he served in France, Holland and Belgium in the Signal Corps of the Canadian Army. After the War, Norm worked as a top salesman for Gestetner and then started his own printing business, first in Montreal and later in Toronto. Upon retiring in 1990, Norm and Florence moved to Calgary. Norm was known for his kind heart, generous spirit and sense of humour. He loved his family above all else and always felt committed to the community where he lived; whether it was volunteering for the Rotary Club/Boys Club in Montreal, forming a tenants' association in his townhouse complex in Toronto, or working on the executive of the MidSun Seniors Association in Calgary. Norm's family would like to express their gratitude to the nursing staff and doctors in Unit 46 at Rockyview Hospital, and in particular to Dr. Nesbitt, for their excellent care and compassion. Funeral Services will be held at JACQUES FUNERAL HOME (corner of Macleod Trail South at Lake Fraser Gate) on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 10:00 a.m.; burial will follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3Y6; or the Kidney Foundation, 6007 - 1A Street S.W., Calgary, AB T2H 0G3.
