Norma Brown, formerly of Muncie and Anderson, Indiana passed away quietly in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 11, 2011. She was born on March 29, 1914 in Tipton, IN. She is survived by her daughter Joyce A. Swing and husband Robert A. Swing of Knoxville, TN, her son John R. Brown and wife Nancy L. of Fort Wayne, IN, and her step daughter Mary Glen Nelson and husband Robert Nelson of Bethlehem, PA., granddaughters Christy Horn and husband Randy Horn of Florence, AL, Denise Burgess and husband Rev. Fr. Brian Burgess of Woodbury, NJ, Cheryl Swing of Littleton, CO, Laura Brown of Ft. Wayne, IN. Barbara Brown of Ft. Wayne, IN, a grandson R. Scott Swing and wife Melissa of Bellevue, NE, step granddaughters Claudia Bonnell and husband Clayton Bonnell of Fairfax, VA., Carolyn Koontz and husband Jim Koontz of Bethlehem, PA, and Cathy Rawlings and husband Michael Rawlings of Bethlehem, PA. Mrs. Brown has eleven great grand children. She resided at the Heritage Park Assisted Living and Nursing Home in Fort Wayne for the past three years. Norma was a Division Manager for Sears Roebuck & Co. at the Anderson, IN store for eight + years. Norma has been active over the years in the Anderson Business and Professional Women’s Association and Past President of the Anderson Lady Lions Club. She was a 50 year + member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 154 of Anderson. She also is a Past Guardian of Bethel #13 International Order of Job’s Daughters and Past Grand Guradian for State of Indiana of International Order of Job's Daughters. Additionally, Norma is a Past President of Anderson Women’s Garden Club, and a member of St. Mathews United Methodist Church of Anderson, IN. The family will receive guests, Saturday, during an hour of visitation beginning at 12:00 pm and the Rite of Christian Burial will be officiated by Father Brian K. Burgess, SSC beginning at 1:30 pm at the D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls location, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.
