On behalf of Norma Burton's family, I would like to say Thank You to her many friends for all their many acts of kindness. She was truly blessed to have so many wonderful people who cared about her.
Most of all a very special Thank You to Donna Carson. She patiently over many, many months took Norma for her treatments, helped so much with the Memorial Services. She also worked so very hard as the Executor of her will. She truly was Norma's special angel.
Norm & I could never of managed without her loving care. Also a special Thanks to the person who paid for this web site for the past year.
God Bless You All

Hi Jeannie, well a year has gone and it still is hard to believe that you are an ANGEL now. I just turned 64, wow, 1 more year to retirement, I thought as you grew older time would slow down, but it seems to be picking up speed.
Love you,
Earl

Dear Jeannie,
It's so hard to believe that it is a year since we lost you. So much has happened to Dad and I. We sold our house to Norman and Laurie
and they have since then resold it.
We bought a mobile home in Langley in the park where Linda is the Manager.. The day before Dad's 89th birthday, I found out a bad blood clot has come back in my right leg. It's now twice the size of the left leg and I'm on warafin for at least 6 months. All the kids put on a 60th Aniversary party for us. Instead of presents we asked for animal food for 2 charities and we got lots. Norman and Laurie, Lin & Joan, Jimmy and his wife were here.
Alice and Peter also came from White Rock. Unfortunately, 1 hour after the party was over, Dad went into the Langley hospital by ambulance. He is still in the hospital but is out of Cardiac Intensive Care. We will be having a memorial service for you and drinking that Baileys Creme Liquor I saved that Russell gave you over a year ago. We have another small plaque ordered, similar to yours in Evergreen Gardens (Christus Garden}. We are going to be making our memorial garden & grotto behind our house this spring. We both miss you so much and will never FORGET you.
All our Love & God Bless.

Hi sissy
Well here we are at Christmas 2006, our first Christmas without you. It will be very hard this year. If it wasn't for the fact that Ryan & Kumi are here from Japan I wouldn't even have put up a tree and either would Mom & Dad. I got the gifts for Mom & Dad you told me to get in the dream. I did have trouble finding cat underwear for Dad but I bought Garfield I hope that will do. I see you are still a funny girl. I didn't buy the Levi socks for Norman though. I forgot till after the package was sent. Sorry. Mom has been sick lately and I have been quite worried. She has a blood clot and is on blood thinners. So lots of trips to the doctor. I got a new van for Christmas, an early gift from my honey. Norman is not coming out here for Christmas. We wish he would. We will be thinking about you this season and hope you are happy up in heaven and will watch over all of us.
Love always your favorite sister

ANGELS for NORMA JEAN
The Angels are everywhere,
To look after us with care,
When you need one, just pray,
As they are not very far away.
They were sent from heaven above,
To help us in times of hate and love,
They have been there from the start.
And will always remain in your heart.
Angels will end up making you smile,
Knowing they were there all the while,
So as many as there are stars in the sky.
That many Angels will hear your cry.
So remember that from the start,
There will always be a Angel in your heart.
This is for Norma Jean, our special girl.
Love always, your friend Earl.
Love Earl
Merry Christmas

My Aunty Jeannie, I love you and miss you so much. I think of you everyday and I know you are with me. I asked you to be Rylee's guardian angel when I spoke with you on the phone 2 days before you went to heaven, Thank-you she is doing great so you must be doing a wonderful job, please always watch and take care of my little angel. You were and still are the best aunty in the heavens and earth. Please tell Uncle Milt that I love him and miss him too. And remember when I go skydiving next summer I need you and uncle there to watch over me like you promised. You will always be alive in me. I love you always your Wendy woo woo!!

Hey Bean...I miss you...I miss your Mom and Dad since they have moved away. I am kind of lost now. A few times I drove by their house and then realized "what the heck am I doing". Just so you know, at least once a week at work someone has a little Bean story. And farmers call and say "I talked to Norma before and she really helped me." But listen to this Linda, one day our fax machine wasn't working, so we called for service. After he fixed the machine, and Joanne was at the front desk with me, the guy said I'm going to call my office and get them to fax something to see if it's working. When someone answered the phone he says "Hi Kimbo". I said to Joanne,...oh my God, that's what Norma called me. And then the next phone call on the switchboard said " Hi this is Norma from the UFA in Barrhead". Joanne and I just freaked. We told everyone in the office and the whole day was about Norma Jean (Bean). I miss your kindness. And when I sneeze at work a few people say, remember when Norma would leave you vitamin C's on your keyboard. We haven't forgotten you around here. I really need miss your little pep talks about God and the Angels. Jacob is now working in the Yukon. He has been there since August. He's just to far away for me. He will be home for Christmas. Faith and I moved into a highrise downtown (21st floor scary). Please send me some more signs...Love ya..Kim

Hi Sissy
I guess I am the only one writing to you on this guest book anymore. Mom & Dad moved here. We have been working on their place. Steve is putting in their safety bath and I have been painting. We are painting the trailer mauve and we are getting white siding soon. Just like when we were kids. I love having them here. Dad's dog didn't work out. Rocky was to active for him. We found him a good home. I think about you all the time and love and miss you so much. We had a little memorial for you in Mom & Dad's yard on your 6 month anniversary. We hung yellow balloons on the trees with messages to you in heaven. Hope you got some of them. Calvin got in a bad accident with his work truck and is now paralyzed from the waist down. When he was in critical condition I kept thinking of what he said to you about meeting at the pearly gates. It was a miracle he lived. Arlette, Joe, Steve & I bought a mobile in the park which we have rented out to Earl. Norman & Laurie may have sold the house in Edmonton. Well that's about it. Send me more signs please.
Love forever
Linda

Dear Jeannie
A lot of changes have been happening in the last couple of months. Mom, Dad & Norman were out here in Langley for the last couple of days. Mom & Dad bought a trailer in our park and are moving here in September. Norman & Laurie are buying their house. Dad has his dog but I am looking after him till they move here. As you probably know Uncle Henry died. We have been working on your scrapbook, love the one you picked out. I talked to Jasia today and she is sorry she didn't get to see you again. She says she has many memories and regrets. Keep sending me signs I like to know your near. God Bless you, my little sissy.

To our Dear Jeannie,
I hope you know how much you were loved by all who met and knew you. I remember those lazy summer weekends at our farm, riding the horses and enjoying your company. I can still see those sparkling eyes, full of warmth, compassion and interest in anyone you talked to. You will truly be missed. All my thoughts and prayers are with your family.May God bless you all. When I saw the strong faith and courage displayed throughout this difficult time, by your wonderful family, I was truly moved.
See you in Heaven dear Jeannie. You will never be forgotten until then.
All our love,

My Dear Friend Jeannie
Thank you for the laughter. Your wit, your tricks, and your sense of humour have made me laugh til I cried for many years. Thank you for your friendship, your compassion, and your understanding. You made everyone you met feel special. Thank you for your spirtuality: from tea leaves to Tarot Cards to Angels and to Jesus. Your strength, courage and faith has made all of your friends stronger. I will miss you forever.

To my very dear daughter, Jeannie.
I cannot say in words how much I miss you, but I will see that your flower garden is planted. It won't be as beautiful as you had it last year.
Remember how you wanted me to get another Lhasa Apso? I will be getting a dog called 'Rocky' from Cindy's friend. Milo has got a good friend now out at Donna's called Marcel, and is very happy.
Remember what a happy time we had going down to Calgary last April 30th? I finally let you drive my 1984 Olds both ways.
Our house is so quiet without you.
All my Love,
Dad

Dearest Jeannie,
Our house is so very very lonely & quiet without you now, but you're not suffering. You were so very brave. I'll always remember your good days when you cooked us your special omelets. Your pork chops in mushroom soup & onions were the best! You did this by taking off your oxygen tube for short periods of time.
For years, while Linda was in BC and Norman in Calgary, you were our caregiver and did so very much for us.
I remember you, every time you could putting peanuts out for the bluejays so Milo could watch them through our kitchen window. How you loved "Smilo", as I called him, and when he went missing for three long sad days, we all cried with happiness when he came back!!
These last 10 months were very hard for all of us but we also had lots of golden moments of real happiness surrounded with lots of love and caring from all your dear doctors & staff, our family, & your many dear friends.

Dear Jeannie
I could never imagine my life without you, now I must learn to adjust. We were suppose to get old together and to live together in our "golden years'.
My first memories of my "Sissy", as we affectionately called each other was of a sweet little girl with a cherub face and a stock of brown curly hair. You were my first friend, my best friend. I remember how proud I was taking you and Norman to school on your first day.
Dolls, coloring books and cut out dolls were a big part of our lives back then and to Mom's horror jumping on the bed. Candy and Wendy Guloien moved next door around this time and we became a foursome. We built a giant snow horse in the back yard that we all sat on most of one winter. We played at the creek, had singing contests and had numberous Penny Carnivals. Jeannie you were always the fortuneteller sitting under a card table with a upside down rose bowl.
I remember walking on the rocks by Johnny Douglas' house wearing leotards on our heads for hair, pretending we were pioneer women. We would make Norman ride in our covered wagon (which was a wool blanket over the wagon)and being amazed how wet he would get. You were always the brave and daring one, I was always the chicken. I remember once you stole a bubble gum from the store, me making you give me half then running home to tell Mom with the evidence in my mouth.
When Tammy and Cindy were born I remember you and Janis Simpson taking your lunch money everyday and buying baby gifts. What a proud Aunt you were!
Over the years we shared many secrets that even our husbands never knew about. Jeannie I remember you teaching me to read fortunes and enlightment cards.
I taught you to scrapbook and we spent many happy occasions scrapbooking together.
I will never forget your great love of animals, especially cats, your witty sense of humor and your wonderful laugh.
Sissy you taught me about Angels and how to ask the Angels to help with any problem. I guess they needed another special Angel in heaven and they chose you for the job.
I will always cherish the times we spent together and our wonderful childhood. Thank you for being my special sissy and my friend.
Love always
Linda

NORMA JEAN
Norma Jean, daughter, sister and friend,
Why such an abrupt end,
You gave love to all you knew,
Now only memories are left of you.
Thinking of you all the while,
I will never forget your lovely smile,
And now your laughter and your love,
Will be with the Angels up above.
God bless you Norma Jean
Thank you for the memories.

Norma has been my mom's best friend since before I was born. I will never forget the trips that she joined us on to Sylvan Lake in the summer and visiting with her outside, but most of all I will never forget the way my mom changed when she talked to or about Norma. Something was always different in her voice because Norma made her really happy, like so many other people. She will be missed dearly. Whitney Carson

Norma - after attending the Celebration of your Life yesterday, I drove through the old neighbourhood - past Janis Simpson's house, Barbara Dean's, yours and mine and I realized I couldn't say goodbye - because you are everywhere in my memories. We went all through school together, and beyond - because of me you met Milt and through you, I met my husband. All the memories and pictures are with me - I'll never forget you - Miss you always girlfriend.
