Norma Casas-Otero Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 11, 2019.
Norma Ivet Casas-Otero, 32, of Corpus Christi TX passed away unexpectedly on March 7, 2019 at Houston Methodist West Hospital in Houston, TX. She was born in Corpus Christi, TX on February 16, 1987 to Raymond and Norma Patricia Casas. Ivet graduated from Moody High School in 2005 with honors. She married Rosendo Otero on March 20, 2009 and together they had two wonderful boys, Julian Andres (Juju) and Rosendo, Jr. ( Rossy).

Ivet was an Administrative Assistant for Raymond Casas Trucking for 10 years and was recently employed for three years with Highway Barricade as an Administrative Office Assistant. Ivet was a devoted Catholic and attended Saints Cyril and Methodius, and Most Precious Blood Catholic Churches.

Ivet was known for her beautiful, infamous smile and big heart. She selflessly gave of her time to help those who needed it. Ivet spent most of her time watching her son's play sports. She enjoyed being at the fields, taking them to football and baseball practice, and watching their games. She was loved by all that were fortunate to have known her. Her smile would light up the room. She will always be remembered by the loving mother she was. We will always remember her infamous smile, and her loving, caring personality. Celebrate her in your memories and live as she did…to the fullest!

Ivet was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Enrique Casas, Sr. and Carmen G. Casas; and maternal grandfather, Anastacio Morales. Ivet is survived by her husband, Rosendo Otero; sons, Julian Andres Otero, and Rosendo Otero, Jr.; parents, Raymond Sr. and Norma Patricia Casas; sister, Lessly Casas; brother, Raymond Casas, Jr. (Alexandria); nephew, Cristiano "Chucky" Huerta; nieces, Olivia and Christine Casas; her loving grandma, Josefina Morales; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm . A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11:00 am at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church; burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
