Norma Herman

Mrs. Norma Herman, 72, of Mebane, NC passed away on Friday morning July 12, 2019, in Holden Beach, NC. Originally from Kings Mountain, NC, Norma has lived with her family in Alamance County for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward Spearman and Mary Ware Spearman, her brother Charles Patrick "Pat" Spearman and her husband of 38 years, Carl Smith Herman. She is survived by her sister Dianne George and husband Bart George; daughter Carla Herman Soule; son Josh Herman and wife Dana Herman; grandchildren Hannah, Savannah, and Noah Soule, Natalie and Cade Herman; nephews Caleb and Zach George and their families.

Norma was a beloved member of the Alamance and Mebane community. She served ABSS children for over 30 years, served as an active member in many capacities at Mebane United Methodist church, was an active member Alpha Delta Kappa and was a part of the Mebane Reviewers book club. Norma had an infectious smile, gave the best hugs and had a kind heart. She made everyone feel welcome in her presence. Above all, for Norma, family was most important. She spoiled each and every family member through her amazing cooking, spending time with each person and giving love and encouragement any time it was needed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4 pm, Tuesday July 16, 2019 at Mebane United Methodist Church with Pastor Johnnie Wright officiating. Public viewing will begin at 3:30pm and time with the family will follow the service in the fellowship hall. A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Wednesday July 17, 2019 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery in Kings Mountain, NC with a reception to follow. McClure Funeral Service in Mebane is assisting the family.
