Granny was the most selfless person I know...
All she wanted was to see others happy and make others laugh

One of the first times Pam took me to meet her mom we had some amazing friend chicken. She was so funny. She never had much but she always had enough to share with others. She loved everyone! We have missed Jean terribly but got to spend a few precious moments with her a few weeks ago.

Everyone in the neighborhood called Grandma, Grandma Jean. She made the best apple shakes and the best Goulash. My dad always rant and raved over her PB fudge! There is no doubt about it, Grandma is dancin the days away with Grandpa Akers who was gone far too soon.

I´ll always remember a wash cloth as a warsh rag, her couch and cabinets always having enough change in it for a snack, her soaps and walker Texas ranger shows, her always dancing from the kitchen with a spoon or spatula in hand, her olay body wash, she likes cream horns and malts from Jim´s dairy bar, lipstick works as blush, threatening to get a switch (tree branch) gets kids to come inside, and her always having a picture of Jesus in her house. She may borrow a cup of sugar but it will be worth it when you get an old butter container filled with fresh fudge in return!

There are countless wonderful stories about my Grandma. I remember when Grandma would give Brad or me some money when we were in elementary school. We'd walk to Hook's pharmacy behind her house to buy candy. The ladies at the pharmacy even knew us by name.
I remember when she would watch my brother Justin and me, and we'd wander what felt like miles from the house. We could hear Grandma's whistle and knew it was time to head back, knowing that if we didn't show up soon, she'd come looking for us.
She also spent many years watching my own kids, Melissa and Jack. Melissa would walk to her house after school and visit with her until she was picked up.
Grandma never had much, but she was always the first to offer help in any way she could. She didn´t know how to cook for a small group; she always prepared meals for an army, and everyone was always welcome.
