Norma Y. Tolson

To the family, I'm so sorry to just learn about losing my hero. Mrs. Tolson gave me my first job in Wichita as her Secretary of American Business Center. She taught me all I know today about the business world. May she rest in peace and may God bless all of you richly. Phyllis Murhy Columbus, Ohio

Ms. Norma Tolson will be missed. I met Ms. Tolson while she was working on the Weir Cemetery Project, as I had family members which were buried there. She was a real champion in working hard to see the preservation of this cemetery. I hope someday to see this project complete. May God bless and keep your family during this time of grief.

I met Norma (a kindred spirit) through her quest for historic preservation of African-American cemeteries. I regret that she was not able to see the preservation of the Weir Cemetery for which she worked tirelessly. She did her best and was a great inspiration to me! May God keep your family and comfort them during this grieving period. I will miss you my friend.

I only knew Norma for 3 years but she was so wonderful. I loved going to her home and the storieis she would tell. Norma loved her children and grandchldren and her husband Frankie and one could spend an entire day just listening to her life. I will miss her

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I will miss my Dear friend Norman. Norma, my daughter Gertrude,and I were fondly known to each other as Scorpio I, Scorpio II and Scorpio III. I have lost a Dear Friend and Kansas has lost a great Kansan Historian.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

It is difficult to loose someone so very dear to you but many precious memories will always be in your heart to help you find strength and peace. Isn't it wonderful to know that you can tell where the lamplighter went by the trail she let behind? Your Mother leaves with you a great legacy to remember and cherish. My prayers will always be with you.

I worked with Norma 40 yrs. ago and have never forgotten her. She was a light in all of our work days. She was hardworking and always keep everyone upbeat. She was a special person. May God bless you in your time of sorrow.
