Norman Glassman

Pompano Beach - Norman Glassman died peacefully on December 15, 2025. A dentist, photographer, sports fan (Indiana Basketball especially), beach lover, avid tennis player, flagrant connoisseur of jelly doughnuts and licorice and devoted friend to many, he was 96.

Born in Newark, reared in Kearny and at the Jersey Shore, Dr. Glassman graduated from Kearny High School, Rutgers University-Newark and Indiana University School of Dentistry. He served in the Air Force in Valdosta, Georgia where he completed his residency. A long-time solo dental practitioner in Elizabeth, he lived in Hillside and then in Oakhurst and Pompano, Florida.

Survivors include his wife Gladys, his children Wendi, Larry, Paul, Jonathan, Stephanie and Bruce, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many fond nieces and nephews, his former wife Marcia, and his dear friend, confidante and caregiver of many years, Carol Grant. He was predeceased by his brother Jerry, his sister Gloria Franzblau and his parents Mollie and Phillip Glassman.

A long-time member of the Elberon Bathing and Hollywood golf clubs, Dr. Glassman was seldom without a camera or 2 and was widely beloved as the chronicler of all his family events, social engagements and Elberon and Hollywood doings. With the advent of overnight film processing, attendees were inevitably gifted with - and invariably grateful for - prints from the night before's festivities.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service, which will be held on Friday, December 19th at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin, NJ. Donations in his memory may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation. May his memory be a blessing.
