Norman Lemcke Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 18, 2024.
It is with deep sadness that the Lemcke-Devries families share the news of the death of their son and brother Norman R. Lemcke III. Norman passed on November 15th in Boynton Beach, Florida. Norman was born on February 23rd, 1966 and because his father taught at an all boys school, the students were given the day off. Norm never gave anyone the day off since. Always frank and forthright, you always knew where you stood with Norm. His sense of humor was epic and is loyalty to those he loved unquestionable. Norman was everyone's favorite Guncle. His ability to connect to youngsters has made a lasting impression on generations. Norman's professional life was diverse. After graduating from U. Mass. Amherst, he moved to Washington DC. There, he was the executive assistant to the Executive Director at the Society for Neuroscience for ten years. In D.C. he honed his keen interest in politics and activism. Norman made his way home to Essex, Massachusetts where he worked as the social marketing director for Woodman's Restaurant. Woodman's was more than a job; the family welcomed him as one of their own and gave him a safe space to be his authentic self. One of his last roles at Woodman's was heading the L. Dexter Woodman Family Foundation where, if you are so inclined, Norman's family would like you to make a donation- https://ldexterwoodmanfamilyfoundation.org/

For Norman to pass on the night of a super moon should not surprise anyone who knew him. He was larger than life. His loss is felt deeply and his impact on those he met is everlasting. No one will ever forget our Normie/Norm/Norman. We love you to the super moon and back.
