Norman and my Dad were shipmates on the USS Jack during the war. My Dad always spoke highly of him, and he achieved legend status when they found out he put the Jack’s logo on his boats.

To the McCall family, friends and colleges of Mr. Norman. What a remarkable man who was able to have his shared passions of family, country, friends, business and as a master mariner and industry visionary in one very blessed lifetime. His genuine caring, concern, honesty and willingness to listen was always present and evident in his words and deeds. So many fond memories of early morning meetings in Cameron, walking in the door bringing freshly made bread that he would share with others. We were there to conduct business, perhaps some difficult topics but always honest, open and forward looking. You wanted to be and do your best for Mr. Norman and Team. How lucky we were to be in a part of his world. My sincere condolences to all who loved and respected Mr. Norman

I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to the McCall family on the loss of their family patriarch. I didn't know Mr. McCall but felt that I did from the stories that his son, my friend, Alan, shared with me. He was blessed with a large loving family, a strong Catholic faith, loyal friends and an incredible capacity to love others. We should all be so blessed. Sincerely, Dennis Stine

I met Norman on a vessel commissioning back in the early 2000s. Even at his advanced age he still could read a river better than all the bells n whistles a modern vessel had. What an amazing guy. Lost my father this year too. My prayers and condolences to the McCall family. His name, memories and character lives on in his children, grandkids and in the legacy he built.

Dear Joyce, family and friends of Norman,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Normans passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor in the U.S. Submarine Force during WWII on the USS Jack (SS-259).
To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
Joyce and family... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).
Jim Sandman, FTC(SS) Ret,
National Chaplain, USSVI.
