Schuster, Norman Charles National City, Michigan Norman C. Schuster passed away peacefully on January 27th at Lakeview Manor in Tawas City. Age 98. He joined his wife, Glade (Charters), of 63 years who predeceased him in 1997. Norman was born in McIver, Michigan on March 17, 1910 to Charles and Ellen (Kane) Schuster. He was predeceased by one brother, Kenneth, a sister Ruth Bailey, and recently deceased brother-in-law Charles D. Bailey and a son-in-law, Jack L. Krause. He graduated from County Normal and taught in one room schools in the Iosco County area in the 1930s. After moving to Saginaw he worked as advertising manager for Severance Tool Industries until 1975. He spent his retirement with his wife, Glade, between Sand Lake Heights, Michigan and Sarasota, Florida. He leaves two daughters. Sharon Krause of Freeland, and Sue (Tom) Ferguson of National City; his grandchildren Norm (Cindy) Krause, Saginaw; Karen Krause Daly, Freeland; Jack H. Krause, Midland; Thomas G. (Nicole) Ferguson, Jr., Saginaw; Tyson G. (Erin) Ferguson, State College, PA; Trent G. Ferguson, Estero, Florida; and six great-grandchildren: Mollie May Daly, Freeland; Haylee and Logan Ferguson, State College, PA; and Thomas R. Ferguson, Saginaw; Ryan Schian, Birch Run; Justen Schian, Bridgeport and several nieces and nephews. Norman was a devout Christian and an active member of the Whittemore, Tuscola, Sheridan Avenue and State Street United Methodist Churches. He was a gentle, loving, caring soul. He was loved, admired and respected by all whose lives he touched: church family, students, fellow employees, neighbors, friends and family. Those who passed on before him have happily greeted him. Those he has left will miss his smile and kindness and rejoice in the times that we shared with Dad, Gramps, Uncle and Friend -- Norm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Whittemore United Methodist Church, Whittemore, Michigan. Private grave side services will be held at the Pioneer Cemetery, Grant Township. Memorials may be sent to the Whittemore United Methodist Church.
