I worked with Norm many years ago when he was at Wilfrid Laurier University. He was a wonderful man, with a love of learning that he passed on to many of his students, and his sense of humour was delightful. He was a mentor and a friend. I've followed his career over the years and I have always been proud to have known Norm. I will always remember him. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family.

Aunt Cathy and cousins, Norman was for me a guiding light. What a wonderful, generous and humorous man; he influenced all he touched. I remember him as a young man, a philologist discovering archaeology, ministering as he studied. His love of learning rubbed off on me, as did his love of life. We will all miss him deeply.

A scholar, an intellect, a mentor, a gentleman, and most of all, a dear friend and colleague. He will be sadly missed by us and by all who knew and admired him.

I feel very privileged, and happy to have known Norm over the years on APEGGA Council. His good nature and sage advice were always welcomed. He once shared information on a post office bearing the same name as my husband's. I will cherish being able to "rub the Buddha's belly"...last time I didn't even need to pay the quarter. God Speed, friend.
