I love and will miss you so very
much. Even though we didn't always see eye to eye, I know the love was there and no one will be able to take that away from me. I recall the times I needed you and you were just a phone call away. I will always remember the long road trips we'd take when you brought us down south for the summers, the times you and I spent together when we both worked on 34th Street. I will always remember my uncle who never called me Valerie, but Balerie. Uncle Punch-O I am not saying anything that I didn't say to you in life. I LOVE YOU!!!

Uncle Punch-O.
I remember the day that you told me not to call you uncle Melvin, but call you uncle Punch-O. Although, we did not always see eye to eye I know that the love was there. I remember when we both worked on 34th Street we would go to lunch or just spend time talking and hanging with each other. I aIso remember whenever things went wrong I could call on you. When I saw you in so much pain I prayed to God for a healing. When he took you I was angry not realizing that the healing would be you going on to be with God. I know that Gramommy was there to meet you with open arms, with uncle Donnie and Tootee right by her side. Uncle Punch-O I will miss you, I know that you are in a better place until we met again, rest my beautiful uncle I love you.

Uncle Punch-O!!!
I remember the day you told me not to call you Uncle Melvin, but call you Uncle Punch-O. I love you and will miss you dearly. We did not always see eye to eye, but I know the love was always there. I will cherish the times we spent together, when we worked on 34th Street together, we would meet for lunch or just hang around spending time together. I could always call on you for whatever I needed. I saw your pain and I prayed for God's healing. I was angry when he took you, but I soon realized that his healing was taking you to the heavenly home. I know that Gramommy was there to meet you at the gates, where you would suffer no more. I love you rest on my dear uncle Punch-O!!!

I enjoyed the times that I spent with you. I will miss you, dearly. I will always remember the smile that you had on your face, each time me and my husband, (Allen-“fish frying man”)- brought you fried shrimp or fish. I appreciate everything that you have done for me. Without you there would not be ME, I can truly say because of you, I am the person that I am today. To LouEsther, Timothy and Melanie,(from your "Big Sis") everything will be all right!

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

I am at a loss for words. Melvin was not just a neighbor, but a friend. He was someone who I was able to share a laugh/joke with. We shared encouraging words while we worked in the yard. We had fun with the dogs :) He was just the kind of guy that was well liked and loved. We would do anything for anyone. He will truly be missed. He will never be forgotten, and I want you to know, Esther, I am only a fence away. God blessed him with a beautiful family and wonderful time on earth. Keep the faith. Love, Mary P. Lawrence

Louesther, Tim, and Melanie-
I am so sorry for your loss, yet I thank God for the time that Melvin was here. The memories can never be taken away from you. Tim, you are the man you are largely due to your dad's influence. Melanie, well I can imagine you were the "apple of your daddy's eye." I pray that God will give you the strength to go through, and know that when the crowd is gone, you all will still remain in my thoughts and prayers and If ever I can prove a blessing to you in even a small way, I will. God Bless you all.

Grandding,
My heart is so heavy as I type these words. I prayed so hard for you, but I knew your were tired. God could not have given me a more wonderful father-n-law than you. Just to be around you made me smile because I knew sooner or later a joke was going to be said. When you introduced me to people you didnot say this is my daughter-n-law or if you did you would correct yourself fast and say no this is my daughter. Lord knows I wanted Moo-Moo and K.K to grow up with their Grandding here, but I promise Marquise and I will tell them all about you.Thank you for being the man you were, and raising your son to be the man he is. So take your rest Grandding, and we will see you again someday. I cant beleive the Captain has sailed. Love you always
Ruby.
