MaryAnn Hudak Obituary

MaryAnn B. Hudak, 77, of Peckville, died Monday at Mercy Hospital. She and her husband, Joseph J. Hudak, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on Oct. 8.

Born in Peckville, daughter of the late Andrew M. and Anna Fedorchak Kondash, she was a graduate of Holy Ghost School and Blakely High School, class of 1950. She resided in Peckville for most of her life.

She was a member of Holy Ghost Church, Olyphant, and its Christian Mothers' Society and was also a former member of the choir. She was a regular guest at the Mid Valley Women's Club meetings and enjoyed singing with her daughter's choir in Carbondale.

She retired from WEA, Olyphant, in the late 1980s after more than 15 years of service. She was a gifted cook, baker, seamstress and flower and vegetable gardener.

Also surviving are two daughters, Donna M. O'Shea and husband, Patrick J. "P.J.," Olyphant; and Doreen H. Coleman and husband, Patrick N., Carbondale; a sister, Eleanor A. Kurilla, Olyphant; a brother, Robert A. Kondash, Montana; a sister-in-law, Ann Marie Kondash, Archbald; two grandchildren, Ashley L. Miranda and husband, Jonathan, Guayaquil, Ecuador; and Patrick J. O'Shea, Olyphant; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Andrew M. Kondash; and a brother-in-law, Stephen Kurilla.

The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home Inc., 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 in Holy Ghost Church, Willow Street, Olyphant, to be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas M. Muldowney, pastor. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, Blakely.

Friends may call Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m.
