To Hillary and sons, I send my sincerest condolences and further warm memories of Alan. For so many years he was a workmate of character and commitment . This was evident in all his actions towards his students and teaching colleagues. In our last time together, he spoke with some regret that it was not the usual things he missed, but it was Time that was unfairly taken from him. Alan was a special human being, we dearly miss him.
