FLORENCE DAVIS Obituary
FLORENCE T. DAVIS
Passed away on August 15, 2014 at the age of 92 in Frederick, MD. Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was the youngest daughter of three born to Matilda and Stephen Wilkes. She was married to William Davis, for 60 years. Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Leigh and Valerie Phillips, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was a model for a furrier in New York City. Her love of beauty and nature inspired her to become a fine artist. Her paintings are in many private collections. She was a member of the Rockville Art League and served as hostess at the Rockville Civic Center Mansion from 1975-1991. In later years, Florence became an antiques and collectibles dealer, participating in numerous shows each year. In accordance with her wishes, her funeral will be private. To honor her memory, please consider visiting a family member or friend. It will mean so much to them to know they are not forgotten. Arrangements are being handled by Stauffer Funeral Home of Thurmont and Stauffer Crematory, Inc. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.staufferfuneralhome.com.
