Dwight Bagwell Sr.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, March 24, 2015, Mr. Dwight D. Bagwell, Sr., 65, loving husband to Charlene Bagwell. Mr. Bagwell was a native of Carnesville, GA but has lived in Augusta for the last 57 years. He was President of Bagwell Insurance Services. A true southern gentleman, Dwight could most often be found spending time with his friends and family. Whether hosting casual gatherings at the lake, traveling on fishing trips with his best buddies, or cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, he was the happiest around those he loved. A dedicated husband and father to his family, and a loyal friend to many, he will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Family members in addition to his wife include his sons: David Bagwell and wife Blair, Brad Bagwell and wife Elizabeth; daughter: Brittany Bagwell and special friend Damien Merk; mother: Anne Bagwell; and a host of other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph D. Bagwell. Dwight was President of the student body at South Georgia College, a member of Augusta Richmond County Coliseum Authority from 1977-1986, Chairman of the Young Insurance Agents of Georgia from 1984-1985, Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors 1986-1990, Inaugural Leadership Class for Columbia County in 1987, Chairman of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce in 1989. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 27, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Warren Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Dillard and Rev. Sonny Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
