Ronald R. Engler, 63, of Greensburg, died Saturday, May 4, 2002, in the Cleveland Clinic. He was born June 7, 1938, in New Kensington, a son of the late Martin Sr. and Sophie Shemenski Engler. He began his employment with Allegheny Power in 1956 and retired in 1995 as a line coordinator. After retirement, he worked as an engineering consultant for A.E.P. Ron was an avid softball player and golfer for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Elizabeth; a granddaughter, Abigail Sarah Engler Nokovich; and his father-in-law, Virl Mainor. Surviving are his loving wife, Virlaine Mainor Engler; four children, Daniel R. Engler of Youngwood and his friend, Denise Bard, Michael R. Engler of Pittsburgh, Christopher V. Engler of Jeannette and friend, Danyel Basco and Tracie E. Engler of Plum and her fiance, Neal Hall; a brother, Martin ``Tony' Engler Jr. and wife, Dorothy, of Arnold; two sisters, Gloria Larko and husband, Rudy, of Natrona Heights and Inez Michel of Tarentum; four grandchildren, Joshua, Nicholas, Zachary and Jacie; and his mother-in-law, Marion Mainor of Greensburg. Family and friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, 724-837-1201, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Harrold's Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Free officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials to either the Harrold's Zion Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society or the Cleveland Clinic, 9600 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH. Terence L. Graft, funeral director in charge of the arrangements.
