Judith Arlene Miller, age 78, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away early Thursday morning, January 4, 2018 at the Hospice of the EUP - Hospice House.
Judith was born on May 25, 1939 in Sault Ste., Marie, Michigan to the late Edward and Mabel (Stone) Downs, Sr. On September 6, 1955, she married Robert C. Miller, Sr. in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She worked for many years as a nurse's aide at Tendercare Nursing Home. Judith enjoyed cooking, camping, and family gatherings. She also enjoyed collecting bird related items.
Judith is survived by her husband: Robert C. Miller Sr.; four children; Tina Miller of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Robert (Angela) C. Miller, Jr of Bardstown, KY, Margaret Miller of Sault Ste Marie, MI, and Vickie Jo Gabourie of Sault Ste., Marie, MI: eleven grandchildren: Robert Miller III, Ronald Miller, Micheal Miller, Mallissa Brown, Maggie Gaus, Malinda Johnson, Robert Clifford Miller, Sara Miller, Westley Robinson, Amber Robinson, Brittany Emmerson: and twenty three great grandchildren: Domonick Brown, Dawson Brown, Makala Brown, Dustin Brown, Jamall Lettimore, Klair Dosch, Khloey Kirkpatrick, Akeera Johnson, Gary Johnson, Nakia Johnson, Tristin Miller, Kadin Miller, Maliyah Miller, Marley Miller, Tessa Miller, Rena Miller, Micheal Miller, Jr., Nicholas Miller, Austin Miller, Dalton Gibson, Chloie Robinson, Tayler Emerson, and Addem Thompson. She is also survived by her siblings: Edward Downs, Jr. of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Kenneth Downs of North Carolina, Phyllis (Jerry) Causley of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Dennis (Pansy) Downs of North Carolina , Sandra (Ronald) Greatches of Alabama, Ronald (Karen) Downs of North Carolina, Bevelyn (Fred) Logan of Alabama, and Paula (Dave) Broten of Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Lorraine (John) Fyke of Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Carol Vos; and four sisters: Shirley Jean Downs, Betty Bumgarner, Margaret Horton, and Carla Smith.
According to Judith's wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by C.S. Mulder Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Condolences may be left online at www.csmulder.com
